She had assumed that making a recording, or relying on her special and noble status, along with the pistol in her hand, would be enough to restrain Xiao Ran. She had also wanted to control and recruit him, making him her foremost enforcer to resolve the many difficulties Area 19 currently faced. At the same time, she had wanted to learn the true Lelouch's current circumstances from Xiao Ran. Yet her narrow perspective and the mistakes born of blind confidence had caused her to fall directly into Xiao Ran's hands without any preparation. Her entire body was under control, and she was about to become little more than a puppet.
Still, it had to be said that Cornelia's concern for Euphemia had enabled her to do what many others had failed to do: she had truly uncovered Xiao Ran's suspiciousness and directly pointed out the connection between Xiao Ran and Lelouch.
