The place where Xiao Ran had previously seen so many people bustling about was now pitch-black. The former activity and clamor had all turned into darkness and silence. Not a single person remained; Lloyd had dismissed them all before fleeing the place as though running for his life.
Saki had come here more often than Xiao Ran. After entering the dark space, she walked toward a corner with a clacking of footsteps, reached out and pulled something, and light once again filled the room. The completed mecha immediately appeared before Xiao Ran.
Xiao Ran raised his head and quietly examined the gray mecha before him. Since it had not been activated, the mecha's VPS Armor only showed black and white, making it look extremely plain. But Xiao Ran had learned from the documentation that once activated, it would have a black-and-gold paint scheme, chosen primarily to match the Black Knights.
The mecha's armor had an overall knightly style. Its shoulder armor consisted of three layered semicircular plates, while its skirt armor resembled a suit of armor. It carried a Knight Lance, with a beam emitter at the very tip. It had both energy-concentration and firing modes, making the Knight Lance a long-range Standard Beam Rifle as well. It also had four adjustable beam emitters for ranged attacks. A high-vibration saber could be drawn from the rear of the lance's shaft. There was also a cross-shaped shield bearing the Black Knights emblem on its front, Beam Sabers at either side of its waist, and folded wings on its back. When folded, they resembled an unusual solid cape. Once spread, however, they became twelve feathers of varying lengths—the mecha's most important weapon, the GN Dragoons.
