"No, no Dimensional Beasts appeared." Miyoshi Meiya shook her head, answering Chidori Kaname's question.
"Oh." Chidori Kaname seemed much more relieved upon hearing Miyoshi Meiya's answer, then asked, "Then are you together with El-Elf?"
"Yes." Miyoshi Meiya nodded gently and turned to look in the direction of the school. The sound of chainsaws could still faintly be heard from there, along with sudden explosive booms. Strangely, aside from them, no one else had come out because of the commotion at the school. It was as though none of the surrounding houses were occupied.
Miyoshi Meiya found that rather strange and asked, "Chidori, something very unusual has happened at the school, so why hasn't anyone nearby come out?"
"Huh?" Chidori Kaname blanked for a moment before seemingly realizing what she meant. "I don't know, but it seems like hardly anyone lived near the school to begin with. Especially after the Dimensional Beasts appeared, the area got even quieter. I think I heard that some conglomerate bought up all the land around the school or something. Anyway, it's always been quiet around here."
"I see." Miyoshi Meiya nodded slightly. "Then we don't need to worry too much about uninvolved people coming to the school out of curiosity and getting hurt."
Chidori Kaname stared at Miyoshi Meiya's back in a daze and asked, "What exactly happened at the school?"
"My friend provoked someone who seems to possess demonic powers." Miyoshi Meiya turned to face Chidori Kaname. Under the moonlight, a faint radiance seemed to fall over her, making her look elegant, beautiful, and noble, as if Chidori Kaname had suddenly seen a princess.
After staring blankly for a moment, Chidori Kaname answered in confusion, "Huh?"
