Xiao Ran stayed in Kira's room for about half an hour, talking him through it the entire time. Only after he promised Kira that he would rescue Flay did he leave the room.
But talking him through it was not the same as comforting him. The sorrow in Kira's heart would not simply fade because of Xiao Ran's words; all he had done was pull him out of his dazed, lost state. When Xiao Ran saw the three people standing outside the door, he merely said to Lacus, "Lacus, I'll leave the rest to you. I think he needs someone like you to comfort him right now, not me."
"Mm, thank you, Mr. Xiao Ran." Lacus nodded gently. Once Xiao Ran stepped aside from the doorway, she entered Kira's room directly. Cagalli, meanwhile, was stopped by Athrun and Xiao Ran once again. Her cheeks puffed up as she glared viciously toward Kira's room.
"The relationship between you and Kira is a huge shock to him. After all, it isn't easy for anyone to suddenly find out they have a sister or brother." Ignoring Cagalli's fierce glare, Xiao Ran said, "Lacus is more suited to handle things in there."
"Hmph." Cagalli folded her arms, turned her head aside, and snorted without saying another word. Athrun merely smiled warmly at her, nodded gently, and said tenderly, "Mr. Xiao Ran is right. Let Lacus handle things here."
Cagalli looked at Athrun in frustration. "But isn't Lacus your... Is it really appropriate for her to be with Kira like that?"
Athrun shook his head gently and smiled tenderly at Cagalli. "That was in the past."
Seeing the two of them, Xiao Ran smiled faintly as well. He found Cagalli's dull reaction and thick nerves rather amusing. After tossing out a light remark, he hurried
