When Orb fought the Earth Force, it had strictly confined the battlefield to the sea. In the second battle, after the civilians had finished evacuating, it had even voluntarily abandoned the defense of the main island, disbanded the army, and concentrated nearly all remaining forces on this island. As a result, the main island where the city stood had not been greatly affected. Civilian casualties were almost nonexistent, and property losses were ridiculously low, so reconstruction progressed very quickly.
But on Orb's main island, aside from Akatsuki Works putting up a framework on its original site, the devastation caused by the massive explosion had turned the entire island into ruins. The cleanup alone gave Xiao Ran a terrible headache, and rebuilding the whole island involved far too many aspects. It was practically harder than building a new main island from scratch on an uninhabited island.
Fortunately, this world had things like MS units. With a single order, every MS not assigned to defense duties discarded its weapons and shields and joined the reconstruction effort. They were not much use for delicate work, but they were excellent at clearing debris. They even used Beam Sabers to cut through rubble and ruins, making the work remarkably fast. With at least several hundred construction MS units serving as the main force, everything gradually fell into order.
Before abandoning Orb and heading into space, Xiao Ran had ordered all weaponry, including tanks and intact missile defense systems, to be sunk into the sea. They were now being salvaged as quickly as possible. Although being submerged would cause problems for things like tanks, repairing them was still easier than manufacturing everything anew, saving this war-torn country quite a few resources.
Over the two months, Xiao Ran handled nearly everything himself during the first half month,
