With nearly the entire city occupied by the yellow Death Legion, countless citizens dead, and the survivors fleeing in all directions with their families, crying and shouting, the two Gundams that had appeared from nowhere suddenly became the citizens' saviors.
Because of Red Astray and the Huckebein's appearance, the Death Legion had no more time to suppress the entire city or continue their "purification" mission on Earth. They immediately treated the two machines as their primary targets for elimination. This also turned the area around the two machines into the city's only battlefield.
