The vehicle raced toward the military zone inside the colony. Xiao Ran knew that the mobile suits Char had sent had, without a doubt, already arrived inside the colony. The little car he was driving should also have been within the Zaku pilots' field of view. He could not be sure when the two Zakus would begin their attack. All he could do was race against time and get into the cockpit of one of those mobile suits before the Zaku IIs launched an assault on the machines in the military district.
RX-78 was the designation of the Original Gundam, though its full designation should have been RX-78-2, representing Project V's Unit 2—and it was also Amuro's personal machine. But in truth, aside from the classic blue, white, and red Unit 2, there were two other Gundams from the same series and production batch in this colony at the time: Unit 1, painted black, white, and red; and Unit 3, painted gray and purple.
However, Unit 1 and Unit 3 had been damaged during the coming Zaku II attack, which was why they never appeared in the main anime. As for how badly they had been damaged in the original story, Xiao Ran did not know.
But as a cheat who knew Gundam inside out, Xiao Ran naturally knew that all three machines were currently inside the colony. What he could not understand was that the three Gundams were clearly identical, and all of them had been attacked by Zaku IIs, so why was it that Amuro's Unit 2 had not suffered even the slightest damage? It had even allowed a complete beginner like Amuro to take down two Zaku IIs by relying on its powerful armor.
What Xiao Ran meant was that powerful armor—the armor made from Gundanium Alloy.
