Black Astray rose from the ground at an astonishing speed. With the improved thrusters, though it could not reach its unbelievable speed in space, it was enough to greatly shock the DEEN pilot diving toward it. What was more, Black Astray's actions left the DEEN pilot utterly dumbfounded. It actually threw away its only weapon capable of counterattacking—the Beam Rifle that could attack at long range—and chose to engage a flying MS in close combat. That was hardly a wise decision, yet Black Astray did exactly that.
Faced with Black Astray's astonishing speed, DEEN quickly stopped attacking as well. With a flick, it shifted from a diving posture into an upright position, head up and feet down. Its legs spread slightly and bent forward, while the four small thrusters on its soles fired at full power. The wings of its back-mounted Flight Pack spread wide, and its thrusters spewed flames brighter than before, temporarily halting DEEN's descent and allowing it to hover in midair. In the next second, it could likely fly back into the sky from its current position.
