Chapter 725: Unknown-Origin Mecha
From the moment Xiao Ran entered Prometheus, he had descended into each Mission World carrying his own knowledge and understanding. He had never needed to learn the bizarre, ambiguous histories and developmental paths Prometheus stuffed into his mind in order to possess the clearest understanding of what had already happened, what was happening now, and what was yet to happen.
He knew how the story would unfold next. He knew at which stages he could gain benefits. He had a basic understanding of every person in the plot, and he knew even more clearly what changes his actions would bring. All of that had originally belonged to him.
As far as Prometheus was concerned, the basic historical development paths it had implanted contained far less information than what Xiao Ran already knew. Nearly all of it was useless information, at least to Xiao Ran. So even if Prometheus took that useless information back, it would not cause Xiao Ran's original memories to disappear.
It was precisely because Xiao Ran possessed his own complete understanding of every world, unlike other participants who began with nothing and left with nothing. When Xiao Ran entered a world, he did not arrive empty-handed; he brought all his memories and insights with him. This overlapped with the things Prometheus should have blurred. Within Prometheus's rigid and inflexible understanding, it seemed unable to distinguish what should be blurred—or rather, it could not tell which memories truly belonged to Xiao Ran in the first place. Therefore, it treated every action triggered by Xiao Ran's memories as something inherently belonging to Xiao Ran himself.
For ordinary participants, even if their memories of this world were blurred, what was blurred would be the world's progression, background, main storyline, and matters related to the world itself.
