After dealing with what was on his hands, Xiao Ran seemed to remember that there was someone else in the room. He looked up at Lacus, only to find her resting her chin on her hand as she watched him. There was a faintly thoughtful look in her eyes, and Xiao Ran could tell that she seemed to be pondering something.
Although Lacus had something on her mind, she had continued watching Xiao Ran as she thought. She noticed him lift his head and saw his gaze settle on her, carrying a questioning look. Only then did she abruptly realize that staring at him like this seemed somewhat impolite. She lowered her head slightly, her cheeks flushing as she gave Xiao Ran an embarrassed smile.
Xiao Ran tilted his head and asked Lacus, "Is something wrong?"
"Nothing." Lacus shook her head and said with a faint smile, "I was just thinking about what this world would become like if the war came to an end."
Xiao Ran fell silent for a moment before saying, "What you really want to ask is what will happen after Orb and ZAFT eliminate the Librarian and LOGOS. You are more thoughtful than Kira, Cagalli, and Athrun, and you see farther than they do. You can see things they cannot. For someone your age, your abilities are exceptionally outstanding. With your ability, you would be fully qualified even to serve as PLNAT's chairman. In temperament, vision, and ability, you surpass ordinary people in every respect. Most importantly, you know what you are capable of, what you can do, and you have a clear goal."
Lacus was taken aback by Xiao Ran's words and had intended to say something, but Xiao Ran gave her no chance to do so. He continued, "I know what you are
