After leaving the principal's office, Xiao Ran watched as Chidori once again took Yani by the hand and headed for the student council office. Seeing their retreating figures, he smiled silently. With nothing to do, and since it was his first time at the school Chidori, Sousuke Sagara, and El-Elf attended, memories of his own high school days surfaced.
Feeling somewhat interested, Xiao Ran wandered around the school. He visited Chidori's classroom and saw Sousuke Sagara with his head lowered, openly taking out a pistol and inspecting it in front of the entire class. Yet none of the other students seemed remotely surprised, which Xiao Ran found rather amusing.
After strolling unhurriedly through the school building, Xiao Ran made his way to the rear athletic field under the watchful eyes of quite a few people. Looking at the various separated sports grounds, he nodded slightly. Schools in this country certainly had plenty of club activities—far better than the school Xiao Ran had attended, where everyone had done nothing but bury themselves in their studies.
Once Xiao Ran had leisurely toured the entire school, however, he suddenly felt a little listless. That kind of life had already left him forever, and he could no longer return to such an ordinary existence.
