Some indescribable "things" began seeping into this world. Imperial scholars called them Crimson Whispers.
The first changes appeared in animals. They began undergoing bizarre mutations—their bodies swelled, their strength surged, their forms became grotesque and bizarre, and they displayed all manner of supernatural abilities.
Even more terrifyingly, these mutated creatures—later collectively known as Crimson Aberrations—became exceedingly bloodthirsty. Whether humans or unmutated creatures, all became targets of their indiscriminate slaughter.
By the time the Ancient Moon Imperial Court realized this was not a localized ecological disaster, but an apocalyptic catastrophe sweeping the globe, it was already too late.
The entire world had been transformed beyond recognition.
Humanity itself did not escape unscathed. Some people suffered mental collapse under the corrosion of Crimson Whispers, their flesh and blood twisting until they ultimately fell into monsters that knew only destruction and devouring—the Deep Crimson Fallen.
Under the twin stimuli of survival pressure and Crimson power, the genes of another group of humans were affected.
