Whoosh!
The bleak blizzard swirled through the sky, yet it did not affect the two people standing amid the snow at all.
"If there's nothing else, I'll be leaving first." Lu Ming looked calmly at the Silver-haired Elf Girl and gave a slight nod. His voice was as low and magnetic as ever.
To Lu Ming, this rescue had merely been a simple matter of lending a hand.
"Um... I haven't properly thanked you yet." The Elf Girl's voice was crisp, but faint ripples stirred within her heart.
Though Lu Ming saw it as simply helping out when the opportunity arose, to the girl, it was undoubtedly a life-saving favor. No matter how generous a gift she offered in return, it would not be excessive.
"I've already received your thanks. Besides, we're friends. I couldn't just stand by and watch you die." Lu Ming merely smiled warmly at her words.
Sunlight reflected off the ice and snow, illuminating that gentle smile which Liya would never forget.
Before she could come back to her senses, Lu Ming had already walked far away at some unknown time.
"My little master!"
"Come back to your senses already!"
"Though that damned bat monster has turned to ash, this place might not be safe yet!" Hearing Parker's loud cries, Liya was suddenly startled awake. She hurriedly controlled the Jade Water Plate and fled once more.
Only after finding another safe place to rest did the girl finally settle down completely.
Yet whenever she thought of that figure, an imperceptible flutter would rise in her heart.
"What... is wrong with me?"
"Parker?" The girl dazedly covered the spot over her heart, which was pounding wildly.
"Liya, you're finished!" Parker, in his kitten form, let out a helpless wail of despair.
"Yes... I'm finished." The girl muttered
