"Impact Steel" was a metal unique to the Demon Realm. After assimilating with an organic being, it made the body tougher and could unleash powerful impact force when attacking, hence its name.
This strange metal could alter its shape according to its user's will. Gilgamesh had been formed in just this way.
After merging with Dante, Gilgamesh had taken the form of armor according to Dante's will, covering his limbs, face, and back. Its wrists had protrusions resembling missile launchers, while its feet were equipped with gear-shaped mechanisms.
Dante believed this was the form most suitable for him.
Gilgamesh was not suited to dealing with large numbers of enemies. Attached to the body and limited by its form, its attacks were restricted to punches and kicks.
In the fifth game, the Impact Steel of Boss Gilgamesh could shift back and forth between liquid and solid states, causing players to slide off Gilgamesh's back.
Impact Steel was also the primary material source for Rawhide, one of Nero's Mechanical Prosthetics.
A steel-element demon gauntlet and greaves for close combat, it could perform a second-stage charged attack. A fully charged strike dealt 1.5 times the damage.
The Impact Steel on Esdeath's body was naturally different from Dante's. It fit closely around her hands and feet, making it look as though she had gained an extra pair of vambraces and leg guards. It covered no other areas.
Esdeath felt that covering her limbs was already enough. Any more would affect her agility and speed.
To adapt to their powers as quickly as possible, Esdeath and Teresa now fought every day.
