Esdeath knew that Chang Wei was acting so forcefully because he did not want the Kryptonians to hold the initiative. This man loved being in control; even in private emotional exchanges, Chang Wei always preferred to take the lead. Even when he was with a woman as powerful and independent as Esdeath, he was always the one setting the pace.
Of course, Esdeath was not entirely passive either. Sometimes, she would go along with Chang Wei's wishes and enjoy the feeling of being led by him, but more often, she would subtly and delicately balance the power dynamic between them, making their relationship both passionate and harmonious.
So Esdeath thoughtfully gave them a way out.
Chang Wei gave Esdeath an appreciative look. Tifa seemed frightened and did not dare to speak out of turn. That was very good—it showed that Tifa was not the sort of woman who thought too highly of herself, nor was she excessively saintly. She was far too sensible.
But that would not do either.

General Zod looked at Esdeath upon hearing that, his gaze lingering on her for a moment as he quietly speculated about her identity.
From Chang Wei's words, he could vaguely sense Esdeath's special position within the team. Though he was unsure of her exact role, she was clearly not an ordinary attendant or subordinate.
"Officer Esdeath is acceptable, but we will have to ask the others for their opinions."
