Tony sought out his good friend Rhodey, hoping to use him to buy back Stark Industries shares, only to learn that the military shares he wanted had already been acquired by someone else.
"Tony, did something happen to Stark Industries?"
Rhodey asked Tony with concern.
Stark Industries' stock market had been incredibly volatile lately.
Like a roller coaster, and quite a few retail investors and shareholders could not handle the excitement, choosing to sell off their holdings, cash out, and leave.
Rhodey knew full well what stock market fluctuations meant for a company.
If the share price continued to fall, it would not only damage the company's image but also sharply shrink its market value, affecting its ability to secure financing and expand its business.
"It's fine. I can handle it."
Tony said with a headache.
The military shares had already been bought by the Mysterious Person. Tony had calculated and estimated the Mysterious Person's approximate stake, and it alarmed him somewhat. The situation he had personally created had actually benefited an outsider.
So he had no choice but to halt these acquisitions and maneuvers and convene a Board of Directors meeting. He wanted to see exactly who had snapped up so many shares.
As the two men stopped their frenzied buying spree, Stark Industries' stock stabilized, though it remained sluggish. It rose a little, and then that was it.
All shareholders were required to attend the Board of Directors meeting. Tony ultimately held thirty-nine percent of the shares, while he estimated that the Mysterious Person's stake had already reached thirty percent.
