"What... what do you want me to do?"
Michael asked in a trembling voice.
"It's very simple, Doctor Michael. We only need you."
Blonsky looked at Michael with pity, a condescending, almost downlooking sympathy that made Michael even more uneasy.
Then Blonsky lightly waved his hand, as if shooing away a swarm of annoying flies.
At once, several Hydra researchers in white Protective Suits stepped forward. Transparent face shields covered their faces, revealing only their cold, indifferent eyes.
Without another word, they skillfully yet roughly seized Michael by the arms and dragged him deeper into the laboratory. Michael tried to struggle, but his strength was utterly insignificant before these trained personnel.
"Wait! At least tell me why!"
Michael shouted himself hoarse, but his voice was quickly drowned out by the hum of the laboratory's various instruments.
"For science. For progress."
One of the researchers answered coldly, his voice somewhat muffled through the face shield. "Your blood and your genes are the key to opening the gates of a New World."
Michael was taken into a brightly lit laboratory filled with advanced equipment he had never seen before. Beneath enormous microscopes, the microscopic world of cells was being magnified and explored.
The liquid in the test tubes flashed with an eerie glow, as though it contained unknown power.
The air was filled with the scent of disinfectant, along with a faint, barely noticeable metallic odor that sent a chill through him.
"Artificial insemination, periodic blood draws, and so on are all essential."
A middle-aged scientist in a white coat and glasses walked up to Michael. His eyes flashed with fanatical light. "Having you naturally mate with other human women is far too slow and inefficient. What we need is speed and numbers. Artificial insemination and IVF technology can achieve that goal
