Hughie wanted to call the police again, hoping they could reopen the investigation and give his girlfriend the justice she deserved.
However, after explaining the situation to the police, he received an answer that left him in despair.
After patiently listening to Hughie's account, the officer wore a troubled, helpless expression. He slowly spoke, his voice carrying a trace of sympathy but also the coldness of reality. "I'm sorry, sir. You previously made it clear that you forgave The Train, and Vought Company's public relations team already classified this incident as an accident that occurred during a mission. Given the current circumstances, prosecuting The Train is practically impossible. Vought Company has been pulling strings behind the scenes, and much of the evidence has been deliberately obscured. There's really nothing we can do."
Hughie felt as though he had fallen into a bottomless abyss, all hope extinguished.
He stood at the entrance to the police station with empty eyes, not knowing what to do.
Just then, a fit man with sharp eyes quietly walked up beside him.
The man wore a black trench coat, its collar slightly raised to conceal half his face. He radiated an air of mystery and cold severity.
He leaned closer to Hughie and lowered his voice. "I can help you deal with The Train."
Hughie snapped out of his daze and scrutinized the unfamiliar man before him with a suspicious gaze, a flicker of wariness in his eyes.
The man seemed to see through his doubts and continued unhurriedly. "I'm the captain of a The Boys squad under the Black Ops Division. Our duty is to deal with Superheroes who abuse their Superpowers and commit evil deeds. I heard about your girlfriend. Vought Company has gone too far. Someone has to make them pay the price."
