Soldier Boy's gaze was locked tightly on the screen. In the footage, Homelander was being savagely beaten by Sebastian Shaw, completely unable to fight back and looking utterly pathetic.
"What is this?"
Soldier Boy could not help asking Edgar, his voice carrying a trace of confusion and curiosity.
To him, Homelander's iconic cape now looked like a costume a child had casually thrown on to look cool, absurd and laughable.
In contrast, Sebastian Shaw wore a black trench coat, standing tall with a powerful Qi Field. Every gesture exuded the charm of a mature man.
Especially when he spoke, his highly provocative words seemed to carry an invisible power that pierced straight into Soldier Boy's heart. In an instant, he felt that this man was full of tough-guy spirit, a real man with fire in his blood.
At his core, Soldier Boy was the typical arrogant old white man.
In everyday life, his favorite things were drinking and having fun, chasing women, smoking a little weed now and then, and bragging about his heroic exploits, whether real or made up.
His chauvinism ran deep, and he displayed violence and arrogance in every aspect of his life.
Yet, on closer thought, his behavior and personality traits could be found in many people of poor character in real life. He had merely magnified the negative and crude parts of human nature without limit.
"He is Homelander. After you disappeared, we had no choice but to cultivate him as your replacement."
Edgar spoke without betraying any emotion. His tone was measured perfectly, with particular emphasis on the word "replacement." Well versed in the art of persuasion, he was trying to evade Vought Company's responsibility through this approach.
"Stan, no one can replace me. He's nothing but a fake wearing a cape."
