Gotar Desert.

This ancient desert stretched as far as the eye could see. Wind swept in from the end of the horizon, carrying sand and gravel as it scoured the earth. The sky had been dyed a dim yellow by the blowing sands, and the sun hung overhead, baking the entire desert until it shimmered with waves of heat.

The Gotar Desert was a remote corner of the eastern Immortal Realm.

This vast desert spanned hundreds of thousands of miles. Spiritual energy was thin, the environment harsh, and it was recognized throughout the Immortal Realm as a savage wasteland.

Yet across these yellow sands lived more than a hundred ancient tribes. These tribes had dwelled here generation after generation. Their ancestors could be traced back to the Ancient Witch Clan, and Witch Clan blood flowed through their veins. Though they no longer possessed the splendor of ancient times, they still multiplied and survived in this desert, isolated from the outside world.

Deep within the desert, beneath a sheltered slope, stood a tribe.

There were no city walls here, no towers or pavilions—only houses built from massive stones.

The stones had been polished by wind and sand until their edges stood stark and sharp, their surfaces covered in pockmarks carved by the years. Each was as large as a millstone, carried and stacked through brute force by the tribe's strong men, forming sturdy, rugged stone houses.

The roofs of the stone houses were covered in thick beast hides, secured with large bone nails to keep the fierce winds from tearing them away. Between the houses ran roads of compacted sand and earth. Dried beast meat, wind-dried herbs, and sharpened bone tools could often be seen along them.

This was the Tuoba Tribe, renowned far and wide throughout the Gotar Desert.
