"My heavens..." Sentinel's eyes widened, his voice brimming with terror. He turned to look up at the Kaiyang Envoy, not daring to move a single step.
"What did you see?" the Kaiyang Envoy demanded loudly.
Even now, he could still see only the ground of Moonshadow Temple. Yet Sentinel's suspended posture already proved that his line of thought had been correct—something had quietly changed.
"I, I..." Sentinel swallowed several times. "I saw a gate... No, a completely new temple!"
"Is that so? You've worked hard." Hearing this, the Kaiyang Envoy finally set his mind at ease. He walked to the edge of the platform, clasped his hands behind his back, and leaned forward until he fell, placing himself in the same posture as the other man.
That instant seemed both fleeting and endlessly long—
Then the Kaiyang Envoy beheld a wondrous sight beyond words!
A road that had never existed before emerged beneath his feet, stretching straight ahead toward the temple gate Sentinel had described. The original earth had vanished, along with the arcanists standing guard in the courtyard.
Farther away stood lofty temple halls—unlike the broken, decayed wooden ruins outside, the entire temple had been built from stone. Though time had left obvious marks upon it, with vines and green stains everywhere, it remained intact as a whole, utterly beyond comparison with the Moonshadow Temple outside.
"My lord, what exactly is going on!?" Sentinel asked.
As a third-rank official, he had certainly seen no small share of the world, yet even now he had failed to free himself from the shock.
The Kaiyang Envoy felt much the same.
After all, a guess was only a guess. He had thought they would find no more than a hidden special entrance. Who could have imagined they would see an entire temple?
