Background

Luo Yu Lei is a direct descendant and young master of the Luo Family. He possesses a sixth-grade fire spiritual root and carries resources befitting his family status, including high-quality pills, magical artifacts, and a large personal storage bag. His full sister, Luo Yuyan, is a disciple of Venerable Hanfeng of the Azure Profound Sect 33 37.

He appears interested in artifact refining, carrying the Abbreviated Secret Manual of Luo Family Artifact Refining among his possessions. The manual contains the Luo Family’s basic refining methods, material-identification knowledge, and diagrams for first- and second-grade artifacts 37.

Personality

Luo Yu Lei is arrogant, provocative, and highly conscious of his family’s prestige. He seeks to embarrass Chen Heng publicly at the Jade Spring Artifact Pavilion, assuming that Chen Heng cannot meet an intentionally difficult five-day commission 25 26.

His greed and overconfidence make him vulnerable to manipulation. Despite a follower’s warning that an ancient beast-skin map may resemble an earlier scam, he dismisses the concern and purchases it, convinced he has discovered a valuable inheritance 31.

Following his ambush and public humiliation, he becomes furious and fixated on finding those responsible. The eventual spread of the nude recording overwhelms him with shame and drives him to retreat from the market town 35 39.

Artifact Pavilion Challenge

Luo Yu Lei enters the Jade Spring Artifact Pavilion to provoke Chen Heng, whom he recognizes as the cultivator responsible for Luo Yuyan’s defeat. He commissions a mid-grade first-tier treasure fan with attack, defense, and trapping patterns, giving Chen Heng only five days to complete it 25.

Chen Heng produces a fan that fulfills all three conditions. Forced to test its fire attack, water barrier, and binding effect before a crowd, Luo Yu Lei has no choice but to pay and leave in humiliation 26.

Bamboo Branch Mountain Trap

At the market, Luo Yu Lei purchases an old book containing a concealed beast-skin map, disregarding a follower’s warning that it resembles a scam. The map leads him and his guards to Bamboo Branch Mountain in search of a predecessor’s cave dwelling 31 32.

Chen Heng tracks the group to the cave, opens a hidden passage, and uses a Mist Illusion Talisman to incapacitate everyone inside. He deliberately leaves Luo Yu Lei alive, fearing retaliation from the Luo Family’s Foundation Establishment ancestors, but takes his storage bags and strips him naked before recording his humiliation 32 33.

Public Disgrace and Retreat

Luo Yu Lei wakes in rage and shame, initially concluding that Wang Yi and Li Zheng set him up with the false map. Unable to find any trace of the actual culprits, he returns with Luo San Shi 35.

The Luo Family launches a market-wide investigation, but it finds nothing. When a nude Image Recording Jade Slip of Luo Yu Lei begins circulating and earns him the nickname “Three-Inch Ding,” he withdraws overnight to Golden Luo Mountain to await the Azure Profound Sect’s recruitment 38 39.
