Someone recognized the Unicorn Demon King, their face lighting up with excitement.
"It's the City Lord! The sand beasts are about to attack Sand City. We beg the City Lord to take action and save us!"
"Sand City is your life's work. You wouldn't just stand by and watch it fall, would you?"
Some even dropped to their knees toward the Unicorn Demon King in midair, begging him to resolve the crisis before them.
The Unicorn Demon King swept a cold glance over those who had spoken, his tone indifferent.
"Have you forgotten the rules? Once I, as a Demon King, participate in battle, I will inevitably draw the Sand Scorpion King's hostility and attacks, causing the situation to spiral out of control.
"If the situation spins out of control, what makes you think you can avoid being caught up in a Demon King-level battle?"
At these words, everyone's faces turned pale. That was not a sight they wished to see either.
"But the sand beast army is about to reach the city walls. What should we do?"
"When soldiers come, generals block them; when water comes, earth dams it. If they dare invade Sand City, then drive them back. Though the other Demon Kings in the city and I are bound by the rules and cannot act, neither can we sit by and watch these ferocious creatures ravage our life's work."
The Unicorn Demon King looked over the crowd, his expression turning solemn.
"All cultivators remaining in the city will obey my orders. Divide into four groups and defend the eastern, southern, western, and northern gates. You must stop these sand beasts outside the city!
"All cultivators who did not participate in the first and second defensive battles must join the present city defense without condition. Anyone who disobeys
