Here, the power belonging to ordinary people had always been exceedingly feeble.
On top of that, through endless wars of faith, the followers of one god after another often fought fiercely over resources for their beliefs, destroying all manner of things...
Even if mortals truly made some progress, it could easily be destroyed.
Thus, the vitality of civilization here was faint.

The mortals here maintained a form of civilization similar to the Western Middle Ages.
Serfs, commoners, nobles, transcendent beings.
That was all there was.
With their backs to the yellow earth and faces toward the sky was the portrait of most people's lives.
