Gotham.
A legendary tourist destination.
Its local residents were renowned across the world for their warmth and hospitality.
Of course, aside from that warmth and hospitality, this place was most famous for an economy and unemployment rate that kept flourishing no matter how they were tossed about.
In short, it was an incredibly marvelous godforsaken place.
The more people died, the better and more developed the economy became. Correspondingly, however, the unemployment rate rose sharply, creating a vicious cycle—more casualties...
Put simply.
One could derive a basic formula.
A riot broke out in Gotham, killing dozens of people → the economy inexplicably improved, while unemployment inexplicably soared (meaning the upper class grew richer while the lower class grew poorer), street thugs multiplied, and public resentment continued to build → another riot broke out, killing another hundred or so people, the economy improved again, unemployment kept soaring (once again, the upper class grew richer while the lower class grew poorer), street thugs multiplied, and resentment continued to build → yet another riot broke out...
Lots of deaths = a better economy.
Genuine prosperity and a lack of population = more people able to flood in.
The unemployment rate that followed close on its heels = a double gap between psychology and reality.
Accidents increased as the population grew = more and more people available to die...
Formula after formula ultimately brought about the result of Gotham becoming ever more chaotic and ever more prosperous!
Without a doubt.
This was an utterly mystifying formula!
It made economists scratch their heads, sociologists cry out that it was fucking unbelievable, psychologists feel that reality was far too wondrous... even Bruce Wayne, who possessed dozens of degrees, could not comprehend the mysteries within!
