After setting aside his original plan to venture outside the city for a while,
Karlrazen watched the passersby outside through the special screen on his seat.
Other thoughts kept surfacing in his mind.
Originally, he had thought his strength would make him quite respectable even within Crimson Heaven.
But now, looking at the people outside,
with lower demons and middle demons clustered everywhere,
he no longer felt so sure...
In theory,
he was only one level short of becoming a great demon, someone who could roam freely wherever he pleased.
He should not have needed to be so cautious.
Unfortunately... their power systems were completely different.
The advancement path he faced was not upper demon → great demon.
Instead, he followed a different path.
One where the gaps in strength between levels were not nearly so vast, and advancing did not require risking his life quite so recklessly.

in reality,
by the standards of his own advancement path,
he still had five levels to climb before reaching the Bottomless Abyss's great demon level.
As for roaming around without a care,
he was naturally still a very long way off!
By the same token,
as someone classified as an upper demon in the Bottomless Abyss, he appeared to need only two more advancements to reach the level of an abyss lord.
But according to the strength classifications back home, he actually needed to advance more than a hundred times to reach the abyss lord level here.
All he could say was that many things did not seem far away, yet from another perspective, they were utterly beyond reach...
