Benefits?
Good and evil?
Did they mean anything to someone at the very top, with everything within reach?
Nothing at all.
Not the slightest thing.
Just do whatever felt good!
That was precisely why Orsaga had so frankly dismissed the Lady of Pain's question earlier.
The next instant.
He clearly sensed AO, the Evil Serpent, and the Good Serpent all withdraw their gazes and return to their everyday activities.

This was also one of the main reasons those in power often chose to conceal the news whenever a massive upheaval struck.
An upheaval too great would lead to collective resignation and widespread, uncontrollable madness, affecting people, things, and events that should never have been affected!
Now.
What AO and the others were doing was essentially giving up after realizing there was nothing they could do.
Orsaga's power was already on an entirely different level from theirs.
So-called resistance and precautions.
Neither had any practical meaning anymore.
They might as well spend that time doing something else.
As for the Lady of Pain sitting before Orsaga, she remained exactly as she had been.
