Rin Tohsaka's First Battle to Become a Demon God!
The cold wind of late autumn howled through the mountains and forests in the evening, yet the mountain behind the Tohsaka Estate held no trace of chill.
A massive giant of flame roared. Its overwhelming pressure would have made anyone who saw it tremble from head to toe.
"Crush him, Witch-King Slayer."
"Roar!"
At Rin's tiny gesture, Witch-King Slayer raised its enormous flaming cross and charged wildly at Kirei Kotomine.
Tokiomi Tohsaka watched the violent flame giant, his high-spirited eldest daughter, and Kirei Kotomine's desperate evasions. He tightly gripped the gem and cane in his hands, ready to rescue his newly accepted disciple and future partner the instant anything went wrong.
While dodging desperately, Kirei Kotomine tested the waters by flinging out the Black Key in his hand. The Black Key, imbued with exorcising properties, swiftly pierced through Witch-King Slayer.
Seeing the hole punched through Witch-King Slayer before him, Kirei Kotomine seemed to see a chance to defeat the flame giant. He kept pulling Black Keys from behind his back and throwing them out.
Rin grinned as she watched the disheveled Kirei Kotomine with amused eyes. An inexplicable thrill rose within her. With a wave of her little hand, she fully opened her Magic Circuits and increased her magical energy output.
Witch-King Slayer, which had been riddled with holes, instantly recovered under the reinforcement of Rin's magical energy. It grew even larger, raised a gigantic flaming cross nearly three stories tall, and brutally smashed it toward Kirei Kotomine.
The sudden reversal left Kirei Kotomine with nowhere to evade. He could only futilely raise both hands, intending to take the blow head-on.
At that critical moment, Tokiomi Tohsaka, who had been watching from the side, instantly crushed the gem in his hand. With a point of his cane, a magecraft barrier barely blocked the attack for Kirei Kotomine, but Witch-King Slayer still sent Kirei Kotomine flying violently.

Rin curled her lips, clicked her tongue, withdrew her magical energy, and dispelled Witch-King Slayer.
Tokiomi Tohsaka came to Kirei Kotomine's side. Kirei could barely stand by leaning against the tree, and Tokiomi extended his hands, glowing with gentle magical energy, to begin healing him.
"My apologies, Kirei. I never expected my daughter to already be capable of such magecraft. I hope you will not take offense!"
Yet after saying that, Tokiomi Tohsaka showed not the slightest hint of apology. Instead, his face was full of pride and satisfaction.
Kirei Kotomine clutched his most severely injured arm and leaned against the tree. Still expressionless, he quietly glanced at Tokiomi Tohsaka.
"It's fine, Master. My own skills were lacking."
Then he looked toward the approaching Rin, a glint flashing in his eyes as he began to feel curious about the five-year-old girl before him.
"Rin, just as Master said, you are a genius among geniuses, someone who surpasses genius itself."
Rin stared blankly at Kirei Kotomine. Is this guy a doll? I hurt him that badly, and he doesn't have any reaction at all. Maybe I shouldn't have treated him like that. No, he's one of the culprits behind my family's future tragedy. But then again... maybe I can use him. Wasn't he easily fooled by that Golden Flash? Why can't I do the same? After thinking it through, Rin put on a pitiful expression, pretending to be a little girl who had accidentally made a mistake and was sulking.
"Senior Brother, sorry. I still can't control my magecraft very well. But who told you to underestimate me?"
Whether Rin's act fooled Kirei Kotomine or not, Tokiomi Tohsaka believed it. Keeping the Healing Magecraft active in one hand, he set down his cane and stroked Rin's head.
"All right, Rin. Stop throwing a child's tantrum. Father has seen your hard work and ability. From today onward, our agreement has been fulfilled. Sakura will not be sent away, and from today on, I will allow Sakura to study magecraft. Come, help Father heal your senior brother."

"Rin, let go quickly! You're squeezing Sakura so hard she can't breathe!"
