At Last, Zuo You Was No Longer Torn

Zuo You arrived at a place of clear streams and beautiful mountains. Green Bamboo Staff in hand, he began to climb.

Temples stood at the foot of mountains, Daoist shrines on their summits, and academies halfway up. Even outside the Blessed Lands of Vast Heaven and Earth, it was generally the same.

Zuo You was now in a foreign land called the Yuhua Blessed Land. With time on his hands, and neither willing nor able to move his true body, he could only let his Yin God travel far. He took the chance to see the scenery along the way.

The place he had come to was a sacred site of cultivation in this blessed land, praised as an immortal mansion among mortals. Recluses seeking immortals invariably passed through it, while devout men and women favored it for pilgrimages to burn incense.

Legend held that many True Persons had once cultivated Daoist arts in these mountains. Thus the Emperor decreed the construction of Emerald Pine Palace on the summit. Later, one True Person truly attained the Dao and ascended to immortality astride a green dragon transformed from an ancient pine. The whole world heard of it. Seeing this unprecedented Heaven and Earth Auspicious Sign, unrecorded in any history, the reigning monarch promptly changed the era name in accordance with Heaven's will. In the Year of Auspicious Clouds, he decreed the construction of Baoji Temple to honor that Daoist immortal's "Yuhua Ascension." More than a century later, dynasties changed and incense offerings at the Palace and Taoist temple dwindled. The last documented return of that "Immortal" to the mortal world came when he used supreme Magical Power to dredge up Baoji Temple, which had somehow sunk beneath the water, and move it to the summit.
