The Orthodox God of Sui Mountain, who was taller sitting down than the old scholar was standing up, asked, "Aren't you going to look toward the south of Treasure Bottle Continent? That's not like you."
Sitting to the Sui Mountain Great God's right, as though that put him farther from East Treasure Bottle Continent, the old scholar shook his head. "No, no. No matter how hard a man's heart is, how many times can it break?"
The golden armored divine person suddenly gazed into the distance. "An unexpected guest has come to Sui Mountain. Want to see him? If you find him annoying, I won't open the gate."
"If it's Old Masters Dong, Han, or Zhu from the Temple of Literature," said the old scholar, "tell them the old man himself has spoken: don't bother Venerable Master Confucius while he's fighting someone."
Those three elderly Confucian masters were the Temple of Literature's leader and two vice leaders. All three were true Hundred Generations Literary Masters. Their contributions to the continuity of the Confucian Literary Vein and the passing of its flame would endure for a thousand autumns.
Old Master Dong, leader of the Temple of Literature, had brought Confucian learning together into a great whole.
He had proposed Celestial Being Induction and brought the tangled Literary Veins into order. Beyond establishing the framework of the Three Academies and Seventy-two Academies for later generations, he founded imperial academies in the dynasties below the mountains, promoted Official Schools, and devised an entire set of orthodox cultivation methods for Confucian students. He had also made it customary for emperors of later ages, whenever they encountered a natural disaster
