Ch. 262Amphibious

Wu Heng raised a level 13 amphibious Skeleton Pugilist from the pirate’s corpse and named him Sharktooth, then used two enhancement potions to improve his attributes. The next morning, he learned his merit reward had arrived and could be selected at the association.

  • Wu Heng and Li Yahong agreed Dongan Village could join the Auto Repair Shop if its survivors chose to do so.
  • Wu Heng converted the pirate’s corpse into a level 13 Skeleton Pugilist with amphibious abilities and named him Sharktooth.
  • Wu Heng drank the High-Efficiency Enhancement Potion and the Intelligence Enhancement Potion, increasing his Strength, Constitution, Intelligence, Perception, and Charisma.
  • Wu Heng returned to his room, then spent the night with Minnie and Andeviel.
  • Wu Heng took Andeviel to the association, where the Deacon Assistant told him his merit reward had arrived and was ready to be selected.

Ch. 263Spinal Bone Serpent Staff

Wu Heng chose two Wonders as his Level 3 Merit rewards, then examined the options for his Level 2 Merit reward. He discovered that the Spinal Bone Serpent Staff held two necromantic spells, including Heart-Stealing Gaze, and looked up the spell’s effects in the Book of the Dead.

  • Deacon Imilo presented Wu Heng with Level 3 Merit rewards, including two Wonders and three Skill Books.
  • Wu Heng chose the Instructor longsword and Tracking Pendant, leaving the Skill Books for a future exchange.
  • Imilo presented Wu Heng with his Level 2 Merit options: a Spinal Bone Serpent Staff and an iron figurine.
  • Wu Heng examined the staff’s engraved spells and used the Book of the Dead to find that Heart-Stealing Gaze could affect creatures with Intelligence below 15.

Ch. 264Metal Puppet

Wu Heng claimed his merit rewards, choosing a Spinal Bone Serpent Staff and curios that included an Instructor longsword, then settled into life on Treasure Island. The next day, Orin reported that although the four girls rescued from the Sharktooth Pirate Group had been returned, other missing girls had not been found.

  • Wu Heng chose the Spinal Bone Serpent Staff over the Metal Puppet, and Imilo registered the reward.
  • Wu Heng tested the Instructor longsword and discovered that it controlled his body for sword practice but could not help him fight by letting him see or react to his surroundings.
  • Wu Heng explored the harbor, noticed a cloaked figure on a ship preparing for a noble's banquet, and later practiced swordsmanship with Minnie and Andeviel.
  • Orin brought Wu Heng the bounty and proceeds from two Magic Items, then reported that the four rescued hostage girls had been returned but other missing girls remained unaccounted for.

Ch. 265They Mentioned You

Wu Heng used the Tracking Pendant to locate a cargo ship where vampires were drinking the blood of missing girls, then learned that its guests planned to kill him for the Blood Goblet and other wondrous items. He attacked the ship, put most of its guards to sleep, and sent Skullcrusher and Blood Axe after the survivors.

  • Orin told Wu Heng that young girls had disappeared from several families, and Wu Heng sent Andeviel to question them and record the details.
  • Wu Heng used a drop of blood to activate the Tracking Pendant with a missing girl's hair tie, and its Soul Fire pointed toward a location.
  • At a banquet aboard Marik's cargo ship, guests drank the blood of captive girls, and Marik offered 20 Gold Coins for Wu Heng's head and the return of his wondrous items.
  • Granda saw the banquet and told Wu Heng that the guests were bloodthirsty ones created by the Blood Goblet, so Wu Heng decided to attack before they scattered.
  • Wu Heng reached the cargo ship with Skullcrusher and Blood Axe, cast Sleep on its deck, and ordered his companions to kill the guards who remained standing.

Ch. 266You Have No Reason

Wu Heng and his undead companions attacked Marik’s banquet, killing the guests and cornering Marik in the corridor. Marik tried to escape as a Black Mist, but Wu Heng’s group subdued and beheaded him, while a surviving woman emerged from the banquet hall.

  • Rotting corpses invaded Marik’s banquet, spreading poisonous spiders and gas as the guests fought for their lives.
  • Marik fled through the main gate and found Wu Heng, Skullcrusher, and Blood Axe waiting in the corridor.
  • Marik attacked Wu Heng’s group, but Skullcrusher and Blood Axe overpowered him while Wu Heng’s gunfire disrupted his Black Mist escape.
  • Marik pleaded that Wu Heng had no legal reason to kill him, but Wu Heng ordered Blood Axe to chop off his head.
  • A bloodied woman emerged from the banquet hall, found Marik’s head at her feet, and begged Wu Heng’s group to spare her.

Ch. 267Why Is Everyone Dead?

Wu Heng wiped out the people aboard a cargo ship, rescued the imprisoned girls, and returned to the Association with them. He later searched the looted Spatial Rings in the Zombie World and found a Water Walking Belt, money, and documents including the deed to Treasure Island.

  • Wu Heng killed the woman who offered to atone for Marik, checked the Wanted List, and hid most of the formal-clothed corpses through a Portal.
  • Wu Heng found the girls locked in Iron Cages in a hidden cabin and used a hair tie from one girl's mother to reassure them.
  • Orin and Team Three boarded the blood-soaked ship, found Wu Heng and the rescued girls, and prepared to sail back to the harbor.
  • Wu Heng told Orin to report that the crew had captured the girls and planned a Blood Feast, and learned the ship might be classified as spoils of war.
  • Wu Heng brought the girls to the Association, returned to the Zombie World, and searched the Spatial Rings, finding a Water Walking Belt, coins, and Treasure Island documents.

Ch. 268Writing to Lilith

Wu Heng reported the Blood Goblet’s suspected role in the Blood Feasts to Lilith Ann Beshmit, then collected a shipment of Wooden Bows and gave Minnie a Spatial Ring. In the Zombie World, Qiangzi told him the Iron Wolf Scythe was finished and brought it out for him to see.

  • Shiraque questioned Orin about the rescue of the imprisoned girls and said she would report the matter and ask whether the captured ship counted as spoils of war.
  • Wu Heng wrote Lilith Ann Beshmit about the Blood Feasts and his suspicion that the Blood Goblet caused the blood-drinking behavior, then had Andeviel send the letter.
  • A gnome captain delivered 500 Wooden Bows, which Andeviel inspected before Wu Heng paid for them and stored them away.
  • Wu Heng gave Minnie a Spatial Ring, and she quickly learned to use it by storing a water cup inside.
  • Wu Heng opened a portal to the Zombie World, where Qiangzi told him the Iron Wolf Scythe was complete and brought it over.

Ch. 269Failed Design

Wu Heng rejected an impractical Iron Wolf Scythe design, discussed better flying-dragon weapons and ways to keep shelters supplied with gold, then trained skeleton archers and led an attack on a Zombie Horde. During the battle, he reached level 11 and unlocked Accelerated Casting.

  • Wu Heng tested the Iron Wolf Scythe and told Qiangzi to have the workshop make sharper tridents instead.
  • Qiangzi presented two weapon designs for flying dragons, and Wu Heng chose to focus on bombing equipment.
  • Li Yahong warned that shelters were running short of tradeable gold, and Wu Heng agreed to provide heavy crossbows and protective gear.
  • Wu Heng gave 500 Wooden Bows and arrows to Skeleton Warriors, and Li Yahong organized their training.
  • Wu Heng led the skeleton army toward the plaza and ordered archers and spear throwers to attack the approaching Zombies.
  • Wu Heng reached level 11 during the ensuing close-quarters battle and unlocked Accelerated Casting.

Ch. 270Fed Already, Right?

Wu Heng leveled up after the battle against the Zombies, then returned to Treasure Island and learned that his new house was ready for inspection. The next day, Team 3 received merit for killing the Sharktooth Pirate Group leader, and Wu Heng began choosing a Skill Book to exchange for it.

  • Wu Heng added his attribute points to Intelligence and Perception, unlocked Accelerated Casting, and sent the Mutated Skeletons to finish off the remaining Zombies.
  • Wu Heng and the skeletons fought through the day, cleared the road, and raised new skeletons from the Zombie corpses while Li Yahong arranged for the convoy to search nearby shops.
  • Wu Heng returned to Treasure Island, where Andeviel told him that Association Members were under investigation and that the Renovation Team had finished the new house.
  • Wu Heng, Minnie, and Andeviel discussed inspecting the house, ate dinner, and trained at the Association before returning home late at night.
  • Team 3 received its merit for killing the Sharktooth Pirate Group leader, and Wu Heng asked the front desk to show him Skill Books available for exchange.

Ch. 271You're the Greedy One

Wu Heng redeemed and learned Bone Graft, then inspected his completed residence with Andeviel and Minnie. In the Zombie World, he used the spell to repair Bartholomew and several damaged Skeletons, leaving Li Yahong astonished.

  • Wu Heng redeemed Bone Graft so he could repair his damaged Skeletons.
  • Wu Heng, Andeviel, and Minnie inspected their newly completed residence, and the two women chose rooms and decorated it.
  • Wu Heng learned Bone Graft, then sent Andeviel and Minnie back to the association while he traveled to the Zombie World.
  • Wu Heng asked Li Yahong to bring him a Zombie corpse and used Bone Graft to repair Bartholomew with its ribs.
  • Wu Heng brought the corpse into the Skeleton Residential Complex, where several damaged Skeletons used its bones to mend their limbs as Li Yahong watched.

Ch. 272Level 12 Iron Smith

Wu Heng led the Skeleton Army through a battle with a Zombie Horde, repaired many damaged skeletons, and installed Solar Panels at his home. At the Serpent Emblem Conglomerate, he received three corpses of Specialized Professions, including Devont, a level 12 iron smith.

  • Wu Heng used Bone Graft to restore more than half of his damaged skeletons after the Skeleton Army defeated a Zombie Horde.
  • Wu Heng raised more skeletons from the remaining bones, turned useless flesh into spiders, and ordered the battlefield cleared before returning to the Bus Station with Li Yahong.
  • Li Yahong told Wu Heng she had listed heavy crossbows and armor for sale, and he agreed to provide a batch in the next couple of days.
  • Wu Heng installed Solar Panels at his Treasure Island residence, trained with the two women, and later bathed with Minnie and Andeviel.
  • Wu Heng visited the Serpent Emblem Conglomerate and learned that his commission for three Specialized Profession corpses had been completed.
  • Wu Heng inspected the corpses and learned that the first was Devont, a fifty-four-year-old dwarf and level 12 iron smith.

Ch. 273Cross-Region Procurement (Happy New Year's Eve!)

Wu Heng bought three corpses and stocked up on crossbows and armor in Treasure Island and Netarei City, arranging a larger order for each. Back at the Zombie World shelter, he raised the dwarf blacksmith as a skeleton and prepared to make use of the accumulated supplies.

  • Wu Heng bought a level 12 dwarf blacksmith, a Wood Elf gardener, and a human chef, then revised his commission to exclude gardeners and chefs.
  • Wu Heng bought all the crossbows available at several Treasure Island shops, collecting more than seventy heavy crossbows and over a hundred hand crossbows.
  • Wu Heng traveled to Netarei City, bought 120 heavy crossbows, and placed an order for 500 more.
  • Wu Heng ordered 500 sets of leather armor, took the fifty available sets, and returned to Treasure Island.
  • Wu Heng met Li Yahong at the Zombie World shelter and used Bone Manipulation Technique to raise the dwarf blacksmith as a level 12 skeleton.

Ch. 274It Did It All, So Why Should I?

Wu Heng expanded his shelter’s workforce with three specialized skeletons and traded weapons and armor with Flame God Shelter. The next day, he helped Vice Deacon Shiraque question a corpse, which said it had died fighting pirates.

  • Wu Heng named a dwarf blacksmith skeleton Blacksmith One, raised gardener and cook skeletons, and unloaded crossbows and armor for Li Yahong.
  • Ma Zhiyong traded gold and ammunition from Flame God Shelter for heavy crossbows, light crossbows, and armor.
  • Wu Heng suspected Flame God Shelter was preparing to attack somewhere after Xiaoxiao scouted its convoy.
  • Wu Heng introduced Gardener One and Cook One to Minnie and Andeviel, then agreed to visit Shiraque the next day.
  • Shiraque brought Wu Heng to the morgue and had him use Talk with Dead on a corpse, which said it had been killed fighting pirates.

Ch. 275Rich People Are All Fools

Wu Heng and Shiraque investigated Shanala’s kidnapping, then led a team to a pirate ransom exchange that turned into an ambush. Wu Heng wiped out the attacking boats and learned from captured corpses that Shanala had sealed herself away and might still be alive, while hundreds of Blood Hand pirates remained on an island.

  • Shiraque and Wu Heng questioned a corpse, which confirmed pirates had attacked Shanala’s party but could not say whether Shanala was alive.
  • Deacon Imilo assigned Wu Heng and Shiraque to pursue Shanala’s ransom, awarding Level 3 Merit for bringing her back; Wu Heng recruited Team Three to join the mission.
  • At the exchange location, pirates surrounded the cargo ship and revealed they intended to kill the rescuers and take the money, so Shiraque ordered the crew to fight.
  • Wu Heng used a machine gun to destroy the pirate boats, killing the attackers and leaving his own side unharmed.
  • Wu Heng questioned two pirate corpses, who identified the Blood Hand Pirate Group and said Shanala had sealed herself away before they left; around five or six hundred pirates remained on the island.

Ch. 276Bloodthirsty Dual Blades

Wu Heng learned that the Blood Hand Pirate Group held Shanala on Cocktail Island and led an assault to draw the pirates away from their camp. He defeated the pirate captain, but Shiraque had not yet found Shanala, so Wu Heng set out to search the ships.

  • Wu Heng and Shiraque learned from the dead that Shanala was imprisoned on Cocktail Island, where more than six hundred pirates were stationed under a level 15 captain who planned to leave at dawn.
  • Wu Heng proposed sending for association reinforcements while he used undead to draw the pirates away; Shiraque agreed to lead a rescue party toward the camp.
  • Wu Heng raised the dead and attacked the harbor, prompting the pirate captain and his forces to charge into battle.
  • The pirates suffered losses from Wu Heng's fire magic, undead, spiders, and poison, while Wu Heng turned the fallen into more undead.
  • The captain led a group toward Wu Heng, but Wu Heng shot down the pirates and, with Skullcrusher and Blood Axe, killed the captain.
  • Wu Heng learned Shiraque had not found Shanala yet, collected the captain's Bloodthirsty Dual Blades, Spatial Ring, and Stamina Belt, and headed for the ships.

Ch. 277The Woman in Amber

Wu Heng looted the pirates’ warehouse and secured one of their ships for himself. Granda then found an Elf Race woman sealed inside amber aboard the merchant ship, and the woman’s eyelashes trembled as Wu Heng examined her.

  • Wu Heng and Granda searched the pirate ships and found a warehouse filled with coins, valuables, and other cargo.
  • Wu Heng stored the coins in his Spatial Ring and ordered Sharktooth to hide the ship loaded with goods.
  • Granda spotted an Elf Race woman sealed in amber aboard the merchant ship, and Wu Heng suspected she was Shanala, the association’s rescue target.
  • Wu Heng entered the cabin and saw the woman inside the amber; after he touched and knocked on it, her eyelashes trembled.

Ch. 278So You Were Captured!

Wu Heng rescued Shanala from amber aboard her ship and revealed that he had killed the Blood Hand pirates. The association fleet arrived at Cocktail Island the next morning to find Shanala safe and the pirates defeated.

  • Wu Heng freed Shanala from the amber, confirmed she owned the ship, and learned that someone had leaked her route to the pirates.
  • Wu Heng told Shiraque that the pirates were dead and that Shanala was with him, but Shiraque suspected he had been captured until she saw them on deck.
  • Shiraque and the other rescuers joined Wu Heng and Shanala, and Wu Heng ordered his team to search the battlefield and collect the pirates’ equipment.
  • The association fleet arrived at Cocktail Island, where Shiraque reported that the pirates had been killed and Shanala had been rescued.

Ch. 279Bloodthirsty Dual Blades

After rescuing Shanala and defeating the Blood Hand pirates, Wu Heng returned to Treasure Island and examined the spoils from the battle. He discovered that the pirate captain’s blades were a powerful Curio and found a stash of Gold Coins and a Serpent Emblem Conglomerate receipt in the captain’s Spatial Ring.

  • Imilo confirmed Shanala was safe, identified the dead pirates as members of the Blood Hand Pirate Group, and ordered the bodies brought aboard for the return voyage.
  • On the ship, Shiraque told Wu Heng that Shanala was the president of the Starflower Transoceanic Merchant Association, and they discussed the suspected leak of the merchant group’s route and schedule.
  • The fleet returned to Treasure Island, and Wu Heng had Andeviel write and send the steward a report about the operation.
  • Wu Heng examined the Bloodthirsty Dual Blades, recognized them as a Curio, and considered giving them to a skeleton to avoid their effect on rationality.
  • Wu Heng searched the Spatial Ring and found supplies, grenades, at least a thousand Gold Coins, and a receipt from the Serpent Emblem Conglomerate.
  • Wu Heng examined the Stamina Belt and learned that its magic replenished the wearer’s stamina.

Ch. 280Lazy Dog Bomb

Wu Heng returned to Treasure Island after securing the Blood Hand Pirate Group’s ship on Cocktail Island, then spent the evening with Minnie and Andeviel. The next morning in the Zombie World, Qiangzi proposed making Lazy Dog Bombs for aerial attacks, and Li Yahong reported that Qi Hancai had brought people seeking to join them.

  • Wu Heng stored the operation’s spoils, then traveled to Cocktail Island and claimed the Blood Hand Pirate Group’s Main Ship.
  • Wu Heng raised the buried corpses as skeletons, ordered them to guard the ship under Sharktooth, and returned to Treasure Island.
  • Wu Heng reunited with Minnie and Andeviel at home, shared dinner with them, and gave them the pirate spoils to use as decorations.
  • The next morning, Qiangzi proposed manufacturing Lazy Dog Bombs for the wyvern to drop on Zombies, and Wu Heng approved a trial batch.
  • Li Yahong told Wu Heng that Qi Hancai had brought people who wanted to join them.

Ch. 281The Exaggerated Lazy Dog Bomb

Wu Heng tested Qiangzi’s newly made Lazy Dog Bombs against a Zombie Horde using a Skeleton Flying Dragon. The bombs devastated the street and generated a flood of experience notifications, leaving Wu Heng astonished by their effectiveness.

  • Wu Heng agreed that Qi Hancai could bring part of her group to the Bus Station while Dongan Village remained a Sub-base.
  • Wu Heng and Li Yahong cleared Zombies, killed two Mutated Dogs, and raised their remains as Level 6 Skeleton Hounds.
  • Wu Heng returned to the Zombie World the next day, where Qiangzi presented more than a thousand Lazy Dog Bombs.
  • Qiangzi and the others mounted ammunition compartments on a Skeleton Flying Dragon, and Wu Heng sent a Skeleton Warrior aloft to release the bombs over a Zombie Horde.
  • The bombs blasted the street with explosions and produced a flood of experience notifications, surprising Wu Heng.
