Neither of them could withstand the attacks of the countless ice vines.
"Cough, cough..."
The other Tsuguko finally could not hold on any longer. A vine whipped them away viciously, sending them crashing heavily into the ground and coughing up blood.
"Dongtian!"
The other Hashira could not help shouting. Seeing the Ice Blade about to strike the fallen Tsuguko, he hurriedly blocked the swinging ice vines and retreated at high speed.
But Douma naturally would not let him have his way.
An ice vine lashed out viciously from behind him. The immense force knocked him to the ground, and his Nichirin Blade was struck from his hand and sent flying onto the floor.
The only Hashira who still had the strength to fight could no longer hold on either and was easily knocked to the ground.
The four of them struggled to rise and continue fighting, but no miracle happened.
Douma kicked one of the Hashira who still had enough strength to struggle to his feet. Smugly picking up an unfinished human leg from the nearby pile of corpses, he said with a grin:
"Stop struggling. I'm very gentle. I won't kill you."
Watching the demon smugly gnaw on human flesh before them, a sense of helplessness filled their hearts.
"I'll kill you!!!"
The fallen Tsuguko struggled desperately, reaching for the Nichirin Blade not far away as they roared madly.
Douma walked over with a smile, kicked them, and casually sent the nearby Nichirin Blade flying farther away.
The four Demon Slayers could only watch as the demon "enjoyed a hearty meal."
They gritted their teeth, and the agony of their helplessness nearly carved itself into their bones.
After the demon leisurely left, they no longer had the strength to stand. As time passed, would they simply die?
But in the next moment, rustling came from the distant grass, and a familiar figure appeared—it was the survivor they had saved earlier!
"Are you all okay?"
That day, the Demon King received a letter of recommendation to join the Demon Slayer Corps.
After receiving the letter, Muzan remembered something.
Joining the Demon Slayer Corps required passing its selection exam, and the examination grounds were filled with Wisteria Flowers...
Only then did he remember that the demons under his command on Mount Fujikasane had all lost contact with him. They had lost contact ever since he had transmigrated here.
Combined with Scum Boss's memories, did those demons break free from his control?!
If that was the case, the Half-Demons must have been born when they broke free from his control.
Then the demons on Mount Fujikasane could actually be classified as Half-Demons too.
What lay before Muzan now was how to overcome the Wisteria Flowers and go to Mount Fujikasane for the exam.
He could endure the discomfort and force himself to go. It would not really be a problem, but Muzan truly did not want to suffer the discomfort brought on by Wisteria Flowers.
But there was really no hope on Tamayo's side. The technology tree had not advanced that far; it was beyond her reach!
Muzan still went to Ryūsei Pharmaceuticals and found Tamayo.
Strangely, Muzan suddenly found his perception of Tamayo's thoughts becoming very vague for some reason.
When Muzan arrived before Tamayo, she was leaning against a chair with a deep frown. Her face was abnormally pale, and her previously hidden fangs and long claws had emerged. Both hands gripped the chair's armrests tightly enough to deform them.
Noticing Muzan's arrival, she forced out, "Lord Muzan."
"What happened to you?"
Muzan did not rush Tamayo to answer and waited patiently beside her.
Several hours later, Tamayo finally seemed to gradually recover, though she still appeared somewhat unwell.

Muzan looked curiously at the bottles and jars on the table beside Tamayo and joked:
"Are you planning to break away from me and strike out on your own?"
Tamayo wiped away the sweat that had formed on her forehead from the earlier pain, set down the towel, and said:
"Lord Muzan, I have formulated a medicine. Taking it twice will grant immunity to Wisteria Flowers."
Muzan's expression brightened. It even sounded somewhat similar to the vaccines he had received.
He could not help feeling that it sounded quite reliable.
But when he remembered how Tamayo had looked like she was about to die earlier, he frowned.
"Don't tell me that was caused by your so-called medicine?"
"That was before it was improved. Even after the improvements, it will still cause some pain. And I need to explain exactly how this medicine works first..."
Hearing Tamayo's unhesitating reply, Muzan breathed a sigh of relief.
Although his perception of Tamayo's thoughts was still somewhat vague, he could tell that she was telling the truth.
Some pain should not be too hard to endure, right?
Muzan was excited about going to the Demon Slayer Corps to have some fun, so he hurriedly urged, "Forget the explanation. Bring it out first."
Tamayo opened her mouth, but seeing Muzan's eager expression, she did not know what had happened or what she had thought of. After hesitating, she selected the newest medicine from the table and handed it to him. Still, out of kindness, she reminded him:
"Won't you reconsider?"
"No need. I won't die from it, right?"
"You definitely won't die. At most, it will just be unpleasant."
Since he was also eager to overcome his final weakness, Muzan was somewhat suspicious of the thing in his hand. Still, he merely looked at the purplish-black medicine, swallowed, and made up his mind.
He drank it in one gulp.
He definitely would not die, anyway!
In an instant, pain erupted.
His entire body felt as though countless insects were tearing into it. An itchy numbness came with the sensation of being hammered by heavy blows. All five of his brains felt as though they had been filled with lead, leaving him dizzy and weak. The weakness swept through every part of his body, yet his seven hearts beat ever more powerfully.
This pain was second only to when he had eaten the Blue Spider Lily!
"Tamayo—"
Muzan squeezed Tamayo's name out between his upper and lower teeth in a low, hoarse voice that sounded like a growl.
To ease the pain, the cells in his body began multiplying wildly. Huge tumor-like masses of flesh appeared across his body, growing larger and more numerous...
This scene was extremely similar to the original story, where Tamayo had sacrificed herself to make Muzan drink poison.
Muzan was seriously unbelievable!
Did overcoming every weakness have to hurt him like this?
Eating the Blue Spider Lily had been the same!
Yet while Muzan clearly felt his body growing weaker and weaker, he could also distinctly sense that this posed no threat to his life. As time passed, he could even feel himself "evolving."
Muzan's consciousness grew increasingly muddled, and he only heard Tamayo's worried voice:
"My lord! Boss!"
As the enormous mass of flesh spread outward, Tamayo was forced to retreat. She watched anxiously as "Muzan" nearly filled the entire room.
Finally, after what felt like an agonizingly long and indeterminate time to Muzan, the pain began to fade, vanishing swiftly like a receding tide.
At that moment, Muzan seemed to regain control of his body. He took several heavy breaths, feeling as though he had survived a catastrophe.
The wildly multiplying flesh withdrew into his body, and Muzan gradually returned to his original form.
Remembering Tamayo's repeated warnings before he drank that thing, he could not help rubbing his temples.
That had been impulsive!
"Tamayo, what exactly is this stuff? That wasn't just a little pain!"
