Douma silently watched the scene. Though he still wore his usual smiling expression, he vaguely realized that the "salvation" he had once believed in, much like gods and Buddhas, seemed to be nothing but an illusion.
Looking at Niwa Kiyomitsu, who lay on the ground and desperately tried to get up but was too weak from blood loss to do so, he had already grown just a tiny bit stronger than when he had fought him that day.
Forget it. I'll save him.
Douma rushed out from behind a distant boulder as though he had only just arrived, putting on a false expression of grief and concern.
"I was so worried about you. If you died, I'd be heartbroken."
The moment he finished his act, Niwa Kiyomitsu urged him, "Quit acting and go after that demon!"
"You're too cruel. How can you say I'm acting?"
As Douma spoke, he took out bandages to tend to his wounds, sighing inwardly at how fragile human bodies really were.
"Forget about me! Go kill that demon!"
Niwa Kiyomitsu shouted anxiously, while Douma simply looked at him with a smile.
Niwa Kiyomitsu felt uncomfortable under his gaze. "Stop staring at me."
He kept feeling that Xu Wu's smile seemed somehow familiar right now, and not in a good way. How could that be?
Xu Wu was just a child who had joined the Demon Slayer Corps not long ago and worked hard to kill demons.
"Xu Xing went to stop him."
Hearing that, Niwa Kiyomitsu finally relaxed a little, but then hurriedly warned, "He's very strong! Xu Xing can't handle him alone. Go help him!"
Douma looked at him with a smile. "I'm saving you first. Do you want to die?"
Niwa Kiyomitsu fell silent.
Elsewhere, Muzan had already caught up to Kokushibo.
