Sirin and Wendy quickly noticed the two spectators below. Sirin's expression was fine—she didn't know them well, having only met Theresa before—but Wendy's face flushed bright red, and her attacks came to a halt.
Seeing Wendy stop, Sirin didn't want to take advantage of the situation and have the other accuse her of winning by a cheap shot, so she stopped too.
Sirin: "What's wrong? Finally can't hold out? What a disgraceful Herrscher. ☆"
Wendy ignored Sirin's taunt, her face still crimson as she flew down.
Sirin, seeing Wendy wasn't fighting anymore, followed her down.
Wendy landed in front of Theresa and the others, her face burning red as she asked, "Theresa Principal, when did you two get here?"
Theresa: "That Hurricane Blade was really cool!" o( ̄▽ ̄)d
Wendy: o(////▽////)q
Suddenly, she felt like the world... was better off destroyed after all!
Right now, Wendy felt like a model student who always behaved properly and seriously, only to be caught by her parents one day while going wild in her room.
It was visibly obvious—like a boiling kettle, steam practically rose from her head.
Sirin then noticed Theresa. "Little girl, long time no see. ☆"
Theresa and the others looked at Sirin warily.
"Who are you calling a little girl!" (o`ε′o)
"What? With that figure, aren't you a little girl? ☆"
"I'm just a late bloomer! I'll grow taller eventually!" (;`O′)o
"Late by a few decades? ☆" (¬_¬)
"You..." (;`O′)o
Just as they were about to keep arguing, Himeko interrupted them.
"Hello, miss. You're Sirin, right?"
In truth, Himeko and Theresa had noticed from the moment they arrived that Sirin bore them no hostility. From the fight earlier, it was clear that while the two seemed to be going at it hard, neither carried any killing intent—it was more like playing around.
Besides, Sirin had appeared before without harming Wendy or Mei, suggesting she might indeed no longer intend to destroy humanity.
Hearing Himeko's voice, Sirin turned her gaze to her.
"That's right, it's me. ☆" (? ̄︶ ̄?)
Seeing Sirin respond, Himeko continued.
"Um... the body you're using right now belongs to my student, Kiana. Could you please return it to her?" (???ω???)
Himeko was a bit nervous as she said this. After all, even though Sirin didn't seem inclined to attack them, she still needed to use Kiana's body to move freely. Asking her to give it back was like telling a newly released prisoner to willingly walk back into jail.
Under those circumstances, it wouldn't be strange for Sirin to turn hostile and attack them outright.
Theresa, forgetting about being called a little girl for the moment, also watched Sirin nervously—this was about her niece's... well, second or third... anyway, her niece's body.
Sirin looked at their wary expressions and felt a bit helpless.
"How many times do I have to tell you? I have no interest in this body! ☆" ╮(︶﹏︶)╭
Himeko and the others relaxed their guard slightly but still asked cautiously:
"Then why are you occupying Kiana's body?" [?_??]
"Tch!" Sirin said disdainfully. "If it weren't for Bella, I wouldn't bother using this body at all! ☆" After all, who knew if that Grassworm's genes might affect her?
Of course, she didn't say that last part out loud.
Theresa asked a bit excitedly:
"Then can you let Kiana come out?" (?ω?)
Sirin refused Theresa's request.
"Not yet. ☆" (* ̄︶ ̄)
"Why?" [?_??]
Theresa and Himeko were puzzled—hadn't she said she wasn't interested?
Sirin answered their question quickly.
"Because Bella is still waiting for my triumphant return! I can't let my loyal subject down. ☆" (﹡?o?﹡)
"Oh! Right." Sirin suddenly seemed to remember something. "My other half is with her too. ☆"
"Other half? You mean Mei?" (?⊿?)?
"That's right, it's her. ☆" (?˙▽˙?)
"In that case, let's go find them!"
Theresa said, running toward the hospital. She also dragged along Wendy, who was still muttering things like "World... just end it... can't show my face... it's over..."
Sirin and Himeko followed after them.
Soon enough, they found the two busy in the kitchen.
"Little Bella, look! If you just add some starch to this meat and mix it well, then add a bit of oil to lock in the moisture, the meat won't turn out dry when you stir-fry it!"
Mei handed a bowl of prepared meat to Bella.
"Wow! Teacher Mei is amazing!" (?ω?)
Bella took the bowl of meat excitedly, then handed Mei a few skewers of grilled chicken wings.
"Teacher Mei, try these! These are Her Majesty the Queen's favorite grilled wings." (?ω?)
Mei took the skewers, gave them a small taste, and offered her assessment.
"This skewer of wings tastes pretty good." `(∩_∩)′
Bella cheered excitedly upon hearing Mei's evaluation.
"Awesome!" (^_^)
But Mei suddenly shifted her tone, placing the wings on a plate and saying to Bella:
"However, there are still a few small issues with these wings."
"What issues?"
Hearing that the wings she had carefully prepared for Her Majesty the Queen had problems, Bella immediately tensed up.
Mei didn't beat around the bush. She cut open a wing, revealing the bone inside.
"Little Bella, come feel this."
Bella cautiously placed her hand on it, then suddenly gasped.
"It's so cold!" Σ(°△°|||)︴
Bella turned to look at Mei.
"Teacher Mei, what's going on?"
Mei didn't answer Bella's question; instead, she asked her, "Little Bella, when you made these wings earlier, did you cook them right after buying them from the supermarket?"
Bella didn't know why Mei was asking, but she answered honestly.
"Of course! After all, they're for Her Majesty the Queen, so they have to be fresh." ╰(′︶`)╯
"Exactly. Little Bella, you usually use fresh or chilled chicken wings. With that kind of wing, this method works fine. But look..."
Mei pointed at the plate of wings. "These wings were frozen. They haven't been out for long, so even though you used your ability to thaw them quickly, it only softened the meat. The bones are still cold. So when you grilled them, the chicken skin looked cooked on the outside, but because the bones were still frozen, the inside stayed raw while the surface seemed done."
"So that's how it is!" Bella looked at Mei with gratitude. "Thank you, Teacher Mei. I almost made Her Majesty the Queen eat raw wings."
