The Divine Matrix Civilization's challenge ended in failure. After its final self-destructive attack, their Neutron War Star activated an Elastic Space Jump and fled into a short-range Wormhole.
The Neutron War Star could no longer withstand another Identical Spin Strike. It could not even come within four light-years of the Electron Warship. It had to run.
No amount of bravado could withstand the cruelty of reality.
Losing was losing. The Divine Matrix Civilization had the courage to admit defeat, but they refused to accept it. Even reduced to this state, they still intended to find a way to defeat the Harvesters.
Certainly, a single Neutron War Star could not defeat the Electron Warship, but the Divine Matrix Civilization was convinced that their Neutron War Star could restrain it. If one was not enough, then they would use two. Or three.
Although building Neutron War Stars with Characteristic Technology was incomparably difficult, the Divine Matrix Civilization believed that, given another million years, they could still build them.
Of course, this Neutron War Star could not be destroyed either. Only some of its instruments had been damaged. As long as it could return to Civilization Headquarters for repairs, it would be restored within several thousand years.
As for the promised Great Voyage, it could only be reconsidered later. Those Level Six Civilizations could only fend for themselves.
The Neutron War Star, which had already become a White Dwarf-like Star, bounded through the Void. Traveling this way made it extremely fast, faster than the standard speed of a Level Six Civilization, but it had one drawback: it could not last.
Thus, after several jumps, it entered Warp Speed Travel. Once it had traveled at Warp for a while and its jump system had finished recharging, it resumed bounding onward.
