The Great Voyage Organization's overall plan proceeded steadily, but events did not always develop as people wished.

At some point, several Level Six Civilizations discovered that the personnel they had sent into the Midway Galaxy on survey missions had begun dying in bizarre ways.

This was not normal, because every major civilization knew those people had not reached the end of their lifespans, yet they had simply died. Many Sentient Lifeforms who had gone into the galaxy aboard Research Ships and all kinds of exploration vessels to work died silently, without warning.

After these civilizations conducted their own examinations, they found that their people had no illnesses whatsoever. It made sense—at the level of a Level Six Civilization, what disease could not be solved? Yet their people had still died in such a strange manner, and those who sent information back to their headquarters also died mysteriously not long after completing their reports.

That made it even stranger, because according to the civilizations at the time, before this, those people had undergone comprehensive checks aboard Research Spaceships, and it had been confirmed that nothing was wrong.

Yet they had simply died, as if for no reason at all, without any warning signs.

At first, the civilizations that encountered this sort of incident did not pay much attention. After all, only their own people had been affected. They even sent investigation teams to that star region to investigate, believing there might be something wrong with that region of space, perhaps some hidden unknown lethal weapon or the like.

They really did this, and marked that star region as an "Extremely Dangerous Star Region" before reporting it to The Great Voyage Organization headquarters.
