Lattice Maze

Humanity's First Fleet seemed to be trapped in a maze. A fleet trapped in a maze sounded rather absurd, but if it was a maze of stars, it made sense.

Based on what humanity had seen and learned so far, it was a Lattice Maze. After all, the First Fleet had traveled for a long time and was still within the Lattice Matrix.

Of course, part of the reason was that the Small Universe was enormous. But it was only a Small Universe—just how large could it be? Humanity's ships could travel at ten times the speed of light. They could traverse even a galaxy; even if they could not reach somewhere, they could still see it.

Yet the rhomboid Lattice Matrix had exceeded humanity's expectations. Every scene detected by the probes was made up of orderly Lattice Matrices stretching endlessly into the distance. They had traveled in one direction for several months without seeing even the slightest change.

There was another reason humanity was certain this was a Lattice Maze: they had yet to find any trace of the other civilizations. Dynamic Image Civilization and Orange Star Civilization had definitely entered, yet neither could be found within this endless Lattice Matrix. This indicated that they had likely fallen into the same Lattice Maze as humanity.

Moreover, the maze information available to each civilization was disconnected, or perhaps they were separated by some sort of spatial structure.

A Level Six Civilization could create a Small Universe, so it certainly possessed a certain level of Space Technology. Humanity had already understood this when they studied the Small Universe created by the Awakeners. Therefore, this Small Universe left behind by the Precursor might contain some peculiar spatial structure.
