It had none of the flashy distinctions between Tier 1 and Level 4 Civilizations—Magnetic Shields against Positron Cannons, Polarization Shields against laser energy cannons, Grand Unified Force Field Shields guiding away kinetic weapons. This single shield accomplished all of it.
This was actually the kind of interstellar warship shield humanity had imagined during the Earth Era: one that could block anything. Yet ever since humanity had ventured into the stars and developed to the level of a Level 4 Civilization, even fully mastering the manufacture and use of Antimatter, they had still been unable to create such an ideal shield.
Human scientists had racked their brains over this, and some had even believed that such an all-purpose shield did not exist. Yet now, humanity had seen it.
It was not nonexistent. Their technological level simply was not high enough.
This kind of shield was likely one that only a Level 5 Civilization could master. Based on past experience, humanity believed it was the product of some Level 5 Civilization technology. And since it was technology that only a Level 5 Civilization could master, its foundation had to be the Theory of Everything.
"Such a powerful Real Shield!" The scientists aboard the Lyra exclaimed in admiration. The Lyra was locked in fierce combat at the moment, so they naturally had no time to study it. They could only sit in their seats and marvel at the feedback data.
Moments like this were also when the scientists and other government workers were the most idle, because all they could do was watch—watch as the Lyra carried them darting left and right through the stars. Their fates were entirely tied to those eight thousand pilots.
As for the pilots, they were wholly focused on the battle, because every trace of subconscious attention and
