Seeing this, Eichi's lips curled into a slight smile. "Volcarona, congratulations on evolving."
"A few years ago, even hatching was incredibly difficult for you. When you first hatched, you were just a tiny Larvesta."
"After being raised with such effort for so long, you've finally broken free of your cocoon and become a butterfly. You now have fighting strength."
"You've now become a powerful force on the team."
"From now on, you won't be eating and calculating all day like before. What awaits you will be endless battles."
Volcarona nodded to show that it understood. It had long since prepared itself.
After evolving, it had already prepared for battle, and its personality had changed as well, becoming more eager to fight.
A Pokémon's personality could change. Eichi knew that.
Rather than saying its personality had changed, though, it would be more accurate to say that the Pokémon had grown up and become more mature. This was its true personality.
Eichi smiled. "Volcarona, don't rush. I'll find you an opponent right away."
He then looked at the nearby Joltik. "Joltik, you'll be Volcarona's opponent."
Joltik froze for a moment after hearing that, but after thinking it over, its expression immediately turned serious.
It then leaped in front of Volcarona. The other Pokémon quickly moved away, leaving the two Pokémon plenty of room.
Pinsir watched Volcarona with great interest from the side. It had never seen a Pokémon like Volcarona before.
But that did not stop it from sensing the enormous potential hidden within Volcarona.
After all, it required such a high level to evolve. Who knew how much energy it had accumulated in its body? It was easy to imagine just how powerful it had become after evolving.
Eichi acted as the referee at the side. "Begin."
