Ch. 302Keita's Challenge

Keita returned to Silver Academy after an exchange at Sinnoh Academy, determined to get revenge on Eichi for his earlier defeat. He challenged Eichi to a battle at the Battle Hall, where a large crowd gathered to watch.

  • Keita returned to Silver Academy, believing his strength had grown enough to defeat Eichi.
  • Tetsu warned Eichi that Keita might seek trouble, but Eichi said he was not worried about losing.
  • Keita confronted Eichi outside the teaching building and challenged him to meet at the Battle Hall at seven that night.
  • News of the challenge spread, and students from the 1st and 2nd Grades grew eager to watch.
  • Eichi and Tetsu arrived at the Battle Hall, where a large crowd, including Sato and Kona, had gathered.

Ch. 303Battle the Charizard Again

Eichi faced Keita in a public three-versus-three battle, while the gathered students watched to see whether Keita could avenge his earlier defeat. Keita’s Charizard matched Eichi’s Heracross in level, but after their opening exchange Eichi judged that Keita relied on straightforward attacks, and the battle continued with Keita ordering Fire Blast.

  • Eichi arrived at the Battle Hall, where Keita led him to a reserved arena as students and seniors gathered to watch.
  • Keita and Eichi agreed to a three-versus-three match with no Pokémon substitutions, and Keita sent out his Early Elite Charizard.
  • Eichi sent out Heracross, and Charizard opened with Flamethrower while Heracross dodged and created copies with Double Team.
  • Charizard used Fire Spin to burn away Heracross’s copies, but Heracross countered with a Water-type Hidden Power that extinguished the flames.
  • Heracross’s Water Pillar and Charizard’s Flamethrower canceled each other out, and Keita ordered Charizard to use Fire Blast as Eichi assessed his tactics.

Ch. 304Battle the Scorpion King Again

Eichi overwhelmed Keita’s Charizard with Heracross’s Double Team, MegaHorn, and Hidden Power, winning their battle. Charizard was left motionless and badly injured in a crater.

  • Charizard charged up Fire Blast while Heracross weakened it with Water Pillar.
  • Heracross used Double Team to evade Fire Blast and surrounded Charizard with clones prepared to use MegaHorn.
  • Keita ordered Charizard to use Fire Spin, but Heracross duplicated itself again and closed in from every direction.
  • The real Heracross struck Charizard with MegaHorn, sending it plunging toward the arena floor.
  • Heracross hit Charizard with Hidden Power and continued attacking for ten seconds, leaving it motionless in a crater.

Ch. 305A Slap

Eichi’s Heracross quickly defeated Keita’s Charizard, and Keita sent out his elite-level Gliscor to continue the match. Gliscor’s attacks were countered by Heracross, so Keita raised a sandstorm and ordered Guillotine.

  • The referee declared Charizard unable to battle after Heracross defeated it with MegaHorn and Hidden Power.
  • Keita sent out Gliscor, which recognized Eichi and Heracross from their earlier encounter.
  • The Vice Principal told Director Liu that Keita needed to learn a lesson because his family spoiled him.
  • Gliscor dodged most of Heracross’s Bullet Seed, then tried to strike it from behind with Fire Fang.
  • Heracross spun around and hit Gliscor with Brick Break, sending it into a boulder and swelling its face.
  • Keita ordered Gliscor to create a Sandstorm and use Guillotine.

Ch. 306Defeating the Scorpio King Again

Eichi’s Heracross faced Keita’s Gliscor, which used the sandstorm to boost its speed and repeatedly evade attacks. Heracross tricked Gliscor into using Guillotine on a duplicate and prepared a Brick Break against it, leaving the outcome unresolved.

  • Gliscor used the sandstorm to move at tremendous speed and struck Heracross, sending it crashing across the arena.
  • Keita ordered Gliscor to use Fire Fang, but Heracross used Double Team to evade the bite and then attacked with Pin Missile.
  • Gliscor dodged the needles and trapped Heracross in its enormous pincers with Guillotine.
  • Keita realized Gliscor had caught a duplicate and called for it to retreat, but the real Heracross appeared behind Gliscor.
  • Eichi ordered Heracross to strike Gliscor with Brick Break.

Ch. 307Charem

Heracross defeated Keita’s Gliscor, but Keita regained his confidence and sent out Medicham against Eichi’s Scizor. After Medicham used Power Trick, it overpowered Scizor’s Bullet Punch with Fire Punch, leaving Eichi wary of its strength.

  • Heracross finished off Gliscor with Night Slash, and the referee declared Heracross the winner.
  • Keita recovered his confidence and prepared his third Pokémon as Eichi recalled the exhausted Heracross and sent out Scizor.
  • Keita sent out Medicham, and Eichi recognized it as an Early Elite Fighting- and Psychic-type Pokémon.
  • Medicham used Power Trick to swap its Attack and Defense with Scizor’s.
  • Scizor attacked with Bullet Punch, but Medicham met it with Fire Punch and sent Scizor flying, surprising the spectators and worrying Eichi.

Ch. 308A Formidable Opponent

Eichi and Scizor fought Keita and Medicham, whose Power Trick and Power of Yoga gave it overwhelming Attack. Scizor regained its strength with Swords Dance and struck Medicham with a surprise Cross Cut, leaving the battle unresolved.

  • Tetsu realized Medicham had used Power Trick, and Eichi suspected its Power of Yoga had further boosted its Attack.
  • Scizor used Agility and attacked with Bullet Punch, but Medicham anticipated it with Mind's Eye and knocked it back with Fire Punch.
  • Scizor bombarded Medicham with Pin Missile, then used Double Team and Swords Dance while Medicham defended itself with Protect.
  • Medicham used Double Team and Low Kick to clear away Scizor's copies, but Keita realized the real Scizor was missing.
  • Scizor appeared behind Medicham and landed a powerful Cross Cut, sending it crashing to the ground.

Ch. 309Victory

Keita recalled the humiliation that drove him to challenge Eichi, then rallied Medicham and used Recover during their battle. Eichi let Scizor charge Cross Chop, and Scizor unleashed the attack as Medicham charged in with High Jump Kick.

  • A student mocked Keita as Medicham fell, prompting Keita to remember his rivalry with Eichi and the humiliation he had vowed to avenge.
  • Keita regained his fighting spirit and ordered Medicham to use Double Team and Recover.
  • Eichi chose not to interrupt Recover and told Scizor to prepare Cross Chop.
  • Medicham healed its injuries and charged Scizor with High Jump Kick.
  • Scizor evaded the kick with a backward somersault and struck Medicham with two cyan wind blades, producing a violent explosion.

Ch. 310A Crushing Defeat

Eichi defeated Keita in a battle when Scizor knocked out Medicham with the fusion technique Cross Chop, leaving Keita's team with no Pokémon able to fight. The next day, Eichi's victory spread throughout the academy, including the Breeding Major, where Kato learned that Eichi was a Battle Major freshman.

  • Scizor used Cross Chop to knock out Medicham, and the referee declared Eichi the winner after Keita's three Pokémon had all been defeated.
  • Keita recalled Medicham and left the field while the crowd celebrated Eichi's victory and Scizor's performance.
  • Eichi's friends congratulated him, and they noticed that the embarrassed 2nd-year students had left.
  • Yuri and several top 2nd-year students left after acknowledging Eichi's overwhelming strength.
  • The next day, students across the academy discussed the battle, and Kato learned that Eichi was a Battle Major freshman rather than a Breeding Major student.

Ch. 311Gathering

Eichi agreed to attend Tetsu’s gathering for the top students and arrived at Tetsu’s villa, where the guests and their Pokémon gathered for dinner. The gathering began with everyone taking their places and the Pokémon heading to their own tables.

  • Tetsu invited Eichi to a gathering at his villa with the top ten students, and Eichi accepted.
  • Director Liu and the Vice Principal discussed Keita’s depression after his defeat by Eichi, with the Vice Principal saying the loss might help Keita regain perspective.

  • Eichi met Tetsu, Sato, Kona, A Mi, Xiao Se, Matsumoto, and Ishida at the villa; Xin Tai was absent because Tetsu disliked his character.
  • Tetsu seated the guests at the dining tables and invited them to release their Pokémon, while Eichi asked Beedrill to look after the timid Wimpod.

Ch. 312The Situation of Each Elf

Tetsu hosted a gathering where the trainers shared a meal, let their Pokémon play, and showed off the Pokémon they had hatched. Eichi introduced his timid Wimpod to the group, which hid behind his heels when everyone stared.

  • Heracross, Scizor, Beedrill, and Wimpod ate with the group, while Beedrill shared noodles with Wimpod.
  • Tetsu explained that he had invited everyone to catch up and compare how their hatched Pokémon were developing.
  • After dinner, the Pokémon played in Tetsu's backyard, where Scizor accepted Charizard's challenge to battle.
  • Tetsu asked everyone to bring out their Pokémon, and the group examined Trapinch, Tyrogue, Snubbull, Shellos, Roserade, Sableye, Shinx, and Drilbur.
  • Eichi used Bug King Eye to assess the Pokémon and found that they all had Outstanding aptitude, with Ishida's Shellos the most gifted and Sato's Drilbur the highest level.
  • At A Mi's request, Eichi called over Wimpod, which nervously approached and then hid behind his heels.

Ch. 313Custom-Made

After a friendly gathering where Sato described his family elder’s powerful Zapdos, Eichi visited Professor Kanter to test whether he could make an Intermediate Pokéblock. He succeeded and earned four months’ worth of Bug-type Pokéblocks personally made by Kanter.

  • Eichi explained Wimpod to the group, and Sato told them about his family elder’s Elite Four-level Zapdos.
  • Eichi and the others ended the gathering after becoming closer, while Tetsu arrived early for class the next day after spending the night at the villa.

Ch. 314The Big Gift Pack

Eichi accepted Professor Kanter’s offer to make custom Pokéblocks for his four Pokémon, then learned that Keita had transferred back to Sinnoh Academy. As the Indigo League approached, Eichi asked Director Liu for an extended leave so he could travel and compete in the League Tournament.

  • Eichi initially refused Professor Kanter’s valuable offer, but accepted it after Kanter insisted, and Kanter collected data from Eichi’s four Pokémon to prepare their Pokéblocks.
  • Tetsu told Eichi that Keita had left for Sinnoh Academy and that the academy’s Vice Principal was reportedly Keita’s grandfather; teachers soon stopped students from discussing the matter.
  • Director Liu decided Silver Academy should enter the Indigo League but worried about which student to send and whether that student should instead defend the Silver Tournament championship.
  • Eichi continued training, and his Wimpod reached level 17 while Sato’s Drilbur reached level 15.
  • Eichi asked Director Liu for a long leave to travel and compete in the League Tournament, and Director Liu warned that he might not reach the top sixteen.

Ch. 315Taking Another Day Off

Eichi asked Director Liu for leave and agreed to enter the Indigo League in exchange for rewards based on his ranking. After receiving leave through next semester, he saw the 1st Grade exam results and confirmed he had placed first again.

  • Eichi told Director Liu that the academy could not help him improve much further and asked for leave to gain experience elsewhere.
  • Director Liu proposed that Eichi compete in the Indigo League and offered enhancers and other rewards for high placements.

Ch. 317Energy Room

Eichi collected four boxes of Pokéblocks from Professor Kanter and began preparing to travel through Kanto for the six badges he still needed before the Indigo League. Before leaving, he entered a Bug-type Energy Room with Beedrill, Scizor, and Heracross to boost their growth, and the chapter ended as the cocoon closed around them.

  • Professor Kanter gave Eichi four boxes of Pokéblocks and reminded him not to neglect his Breeding Knowledge while traveling.
  • Eichi planned his Kanto trip, noting that he needed six more badges before the Indigo League began on August 20.
  • Eichi reserved the Bug-type Energy Room 308 for three hours at a cost of 300 credits.
  • Eichi released Beedrill, Scizor, and Heracross into the room and explained that they should treat the process as sleep.
  • Eichi activated the machine, and the green cocoon slowly closed around the three Pokémon.

Ch. 318A Major Increase

Eichi and his Pokémon used the Energy Room, where Bug-type energy raised Beedrill, Scizor, and Heracross by a level each. Afterward, Eichi took them to a Training Room to burn off their new strength, where Beedrill and Scizor began sparring and Heracross attacked a target.

  • Eichi entered the Energy Room and absorbed its concentrated Bug-type energy while Beedrill, Scizor, and Heracross slept inside the cocoon.
  • The cocoon opened, and Eichi saw that Beedrill had risen to level 47, Scizor to level 44, and Heracross to level 42.
