The examiner froze for a moment. He looked at the paper in his hand and saw that Chiyue had already left the examination room. He instinctively raised a hand, intending to call him back.

But before the words could leave his mouth, his companion shook his head and stopped him.

No rule said that candidates could not hand in their papers early.

As long as you were confident enough and fast enough to finish the paper, you could hand it in early.

After briefly scanning Chiyue's paper, the examiner in charge of proctoring could not help muttering to himself,

"Kids these days are really something."

He had looked through it roughly, yet there was not a single mistake.

And it had only taken thirty minutes. It was downright bizarre!

Those who dawdled had only just finished reading the questions after thirty minutes and had not even had time to start writing.

Chiyue handing in his paper early shocked quite a few examinees. They stared dumbfoundedly as he walked out of the examination room, while ten thousand mythical beasts stampeded through their minds.

Having easily completed the exam, Chiyue went outside to wait for Minato and Uchiha Mikoto.

In the entire examination room, Chiyue was the only one to hand in his paper early. With nothing to do in the corridor outside, he idly played with a Kunai, training the dexterity of his fingers.

Although he had a cheat, and a rather overpowered one at that,

Chiyue had not neglected any of the training he should have done. In fact, his training was even harsher than that of most people.

"What is going on with that child?"

While handling documents, the Third Hokage recalled that today was the Chunin Exam.

So he picked up his crystal ball to observe.

It would have been fine if he had not looked, but the moment he did, he saw Chiyue standing alone in the corridor. He immediately lost his composure.

He hurriedly summoned an Anbu ninja to ask what had happened.

The Anbu member entered the Hokage's office, knelt on one knee, and answered respectfully,

"Lord Hokage, Yagami Chiyue has already finished his exam. He answered every question in just half an hour, then handed in his paper early and waited for his teammates outside the examination room."

Half an hour? Was this a joke?

Anyone daring to hand in a paper early was either confident or had simply given up.

But did Chiyue look like someone who had given up?

He was clearly brimming with confidence, as though he had not come to take an exam at all but merely to have some fun and go through the motions.

"Understood. You may leave. Once the exam is over, send this team's papers to me."

"Yes, Lord Hokage."

The Anbu ninja obediently withdrew.

"Master, someone is watching you."

White's warning rang out in his mind. Chiyue's expression did not change as he continued playing with the Kunai in his hand and replied inwardly,

"Whoever it is, tell me the moment you notice them."

Spying on people?

At a time like this, there was only one person with the leisure to do such a thing: the Third Hokage.

Chiyue could not understand why the Third Hokage was keeping an eye on him.

It was not like he was a beautiful woman.

Time slowly passed. Soon, the exam ended, and Minato and Uchiha Mikoto emerged from the examination room with relaxed expressions.

It was obvious the exam had not troubled them.

"Let's go. We'll get some barbecue. There's still the practical exam this afternoon."

The three headed straight for a barbecue restaurant and ordered quite a few dishes. Chiyue reminded them,

"After the exam is over, we may be assigned some troublesome missions or commissions. We might even be sent to the battlefield."

Since the Third Hokage was watching them, there was no way they could remain in the village and leisurely grow stronger.

Chiyue hoped Minato and Uchiha Mikoto would be mentally prepared.

"The battlefield?"

Uchiha Mikoto's calm little face turned serious. Minato could no longer smile either. Both of them looked at Chiyue.

"Are you sure?"

"Pretty much."

Chiyue curled his lip. Others might not know about the Third Hokage's favorite underhanded tricks, but he knew them very well.

He was almost certain that their team would not have an easy time from now on.

Fortunately, whether they were troublesome missions and commissions or the battlefield, Chiyue was confident he could keep the team safe.

At worst, he could have White come out and throw Tailed Beast Balls at the enemy.

Chiyue had a feeling that his Sharingan was close to evolving.

Once it evolved and he obtained his first exclusive ability, his strength would take a huge leap forward.

He would truly have the strength to protect himself.

"Relax. Have confidence in yourselves. Eat up. Only when you're full will you have the strength for this afternoon's practical exam."

Minato and Uchiha Mikoto put their hands together, called out together, then picked up their chopsticks and began eating heartily.

Minato staggered from the blow and took several steps forward.
