After Kakashi was dragged off by Asuma and questioned about all sorts of things, Hatake Sakumo looked at Soji with an expression that suggested he wanted to say something but hesitated.
Naturally, Soji noticed it as well.
"Sakumo-senpai, if there's something you want to say, just say it. If it's something I can do, I'll certainly do my best." Soji was quite considerate.
Soji could tell that Hatake Sakumo had only started wearing that expression after Kakashi left.
In other words, Hatake Sakumo must have had something concerning Kakashi that had been inconvenient to mention earlier, and now he felt awkward bringing it up.
"This... it is related to Kakashi. I'd like to ask you for a favor." As he spoke, Hatake Sakumo wore an embarrassed expression.
Just as I thought! Soji thought to himself.
"Sakumo-senpai, you're being too formal. Kakashi is Minato's student. Since Minato is no longer here, I naturally have an obligation to look after him a little.
Besides, Kakashi gets along well with me. This isn't even a matter of whether you're asking me for help."
Soji answered with a smile.
He truly meant it. He genuinely found Kakashi agreeable, for no particular reason.
"Alright, then I'll say it. Soji, aren't you the Minister of Education now? I was thinking of having Kakashi leave the Anbu and work under you as a mentor teacher. What do you think?" As Hatake Sakumo spoke, his face was filled with concern for his child's future.
Hearing this, Soji's heart stirred.
In the Original Storyline, Kakashi did eventually leave the Anbu and become a mentor teacher, but that would not happen until several years later.
It was probably only one or two years before the Original Storyline began that he completely left the Anbu.
Now, because Hatake Sakumo was still
