Because the Hokage Office Building had been struck by lightning out of nowhere, everyone working inside wore panicked expressions.
As the most important building in the entire village, it normally had excellent lightning protection measures.
Since Konoha had been founded, it was not as though the Hokage Office Building had never been struck by lightning before.
But under most circumstances, it was simply impossible for it to have any effect on the Hokage Office Building.
What happened today was truly rather abrupt.
Setting aside why lightning had suddenly appeared out of nowhere despite the clear skies.
The fact that this bolt had actually caused such severe damage to the Hokage Office Building and even started a raging fire was already incredibly unbelievable.
At that moment, the Anbu sprang into action, investigating the area around the Hokage Office Building in an attempt to find some clue.
Unfortunately, there were no results.
That bolt of lightning seemed to have appeared out of thin air!
Inside the Hokage's Office, the Third Hokage held a pipe in his mouth and silently gazed out the window.
After a while, once the fire had been extinguished, an Anbu immediately came in to report the situation.
"Did you find anything?"
The Third Hokage asked in a low voice.
"My apologies, Lord Hokage. The Anbu investigation concluded that the bolt of lightning appeared out of thin air."
Though it was difficult to believe, that was the result of their investigation. There was no human involvement whatsoever!
"Alright, I understand. You may leave first. Find a few craftsmen to repair the building."
After hearing the Anbu's report, the Third Hokage's expression did not change. He merely gave the order calmly.
"Yes!"
