"Phew... phew... phew... Baron, sir, I need to see the Baron!"

Squinting, Li Chuan saw Dr. List approaching with an electric shock device and immediately pretended to wake up, gasping heavily.

If he did not wake up soon, one shock would forcibly dispel his Transformation Technique.

"Hades, speak. What exactly happened?"

Seeing Li Chuan sit up from the hospital bed, Baron Strucker immediately pushed open the door and strode into the medical room with two subordinates.

Li Chuan swept his gaze over them and quickly made his judgment based on Hades's descriptions of their appearances.

The man in the lead, wearing black leather and a monocle, had to be Baron Strucker, the overall person in charge of this base. The old man beside him holding the shock device was likely Dr. List, the second-in-command.

As for the unusually muscular man standing behind Baron Strucker on the left, he was the Hydra Captain responsible for special operations. He had probably been the one who led the team that abducted Dr. Smith.

The tall, thin middle-aged man on the right was the commander of the entire base's defense system.

"Excellent, all the higher-ups of the base are gathered in one place!"

Li Chuan rejoiced inwardly, but on the surface, he merely cast a terrified glance at the commander before Responding to Baron Strucker:

"Sir, could you have the others leave first?"

"Hades, what do you mean?"

For some reason, the commander Li Chuan had glanced at felt an ominous premonition. His tone immediately turned cold.

Hades's terrified look toward the commander just now, combined with words like "traitor" and "danger" that he had muttered before passing out, had given Baron Stryker some unpleasant ideas.

As for whether being alone with Hades would be dangerous—what a joke. His body had not yet been modified, but he was still not someone ordinary people could get close to.

A guy like Hades, who carried no weapons and would be panting after taking a few more steps, could be killed with one hand.

"Yes, sir!"

Hearing the chill in Baron Stryker's voice, the Hydra Captain did not dare say anything more. He hurriedly left the medical room with the commander and Dr. List.

He also pulled shut the medical room's window curtains and turned off all surveillance equipment.

"Speak. Now it's just the two of us. What exactly happened?"

Baron Stryker looked sternly at Li Chuan, who was sitting on the hospital bed.

As Li Chuan pretended to rise and answer, Chakra instantly flooded his entire body. His muscles suddenly tensed, and he lunged at Baron Stryker faster than a cheetah.

"You can die now!"

Baron Stryker's pupils shrank. Before he could even finish opening his mouth, Li Chuan had already twisted his head three hundred and sixty degrees. He was dead beyond doubt.

Li Chuan pulled the pistol from Baron Stryker's waist, tossed his corpse beneath the hospital bed, then activated the Transformation Technique again. Taking Baron Stryker's appearance, he walked toward the medical room door.

He shoved open the medical room door and, without a word, raised his hand and shot the commander in the head.

"Baron, sir, wh-what is going on?"

Seeing Baron Stryker walk out and immediately shoot the commander responsible for the base's defense system, Dr. List and the Hydra Captain were both stunned.

"Will was a traitor, one of Nick Fury's people in S.H.I.E.L.D. A large number of S.H.I.E.L.D. and FBI agents will soon attack the base.

Blas, take over the base's defense system immediately. Dr. List, come with me."

Li Chuan gave the Hydra Captain and Dr. List no time to think. After a brief explanation, he issued combat orders.

"But..."

The Hydra Captain, Blas, clearly looked hesitant.

A colleague he had worked with for nearly ten years was actually from S.H.I.E.L.D.? More importantly, weren't most of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s agents actually Hydra agents? Hadn't Nick Fury always been unaware of Hydra's existence?

"Do you want to be a traitor too?"

Li Chuan turned the gun toward the Hydra Captain. Blas shuddered in fright and no longer dared to question him.

"Hail Hydra! Sir, I'll take over the defense system right away and prepare for defensive operations."

Without daring to delay in the slightest, he turned and immediately headed toward the combat command room.

"You two, come over here. Stand at the door and protect Hades. No one is allowed in without my orders, including Blas."

After ordering two Hydra agents to guard the medical room door and prevent Baron Strucker's real corpse from being discovered, Li Chuan took Dr. List toward the base laboratory.

"The base can't be held. Download all the data and activate the self-destruct device. We're preparing to evacuate elsewhere."

By interrogating Hades, Li Chuan had learned that basically every Hydra base had a self-destruct mechanism. If a base was breached, it could destroy all the data and take down the attacking enemies along with it.

Only Baron Stryker and Dr. List knew where the Sokovia Hydra Base's self-destruct button was, and only they had the authority to activate it.

"What about Dr. Smith, the one Garrett wants?"

Dr. List asked.

Although he was the base's second-in-command, Dr. List did not involve himself in Hydra's internal espionage or agent activities. He only took orders from Baron Stryker and focused on research and experiments involving superpowered individuals.

So while he was confused to see Baron Stryker shoot the commander in the head, he had not thought as much into it as the Hydra Captain had.

"Bring him with us."

Li Chuan Responded without hesitation.

His main purpose in coming here was to rescue Dr. Smith.

"Yes, sir."

Dr. List nodded.

Five minutes later, Li Chuan, Dr. Smith with a bewildered look in his eyes, and Dr. List carrying a briefcase boarded Baron Stryker's private helicopter on the top floor and slowly flew away from the base.

Boom!

A moment later, a thunderous explosion sounded below and behind the helicopter. Under the effects of the self-destruct device, the entire base and everyone inside it were blown into the sky.

"Sir, the base has exploded..."

Lister looked at the blazing base, a trace of reluctance on his face. After staying there for more than ten years, he could not help feeling attached to it.

"Real men never look back at explosions."

Li Chuan smiled indifferently. At that moment, all his attention was focused on the notification ringing in his ears.

"Rescue Dr. Smith mission completed!

Kill Baron Strucker mission completed!

Destroy the Hydra Base in Sokovia mission completed!
