Upon entering the town, Velin had no interest in this typical stone settlement until Lixis revealed its true face.
At the center of the town, they entered a hidden underground door and passed through a long passage, as though they had arrived in an entirely new world.
The enormous Cavern was illuminated by glowing plants growing along its rock walls.
Following behind Lixis, they came to a protruding section of the rock wall. The jutting stone, reinforced with sturdy timber, formed a circular road leading directly down to the ground below. Railings had been strengthened along the side, and a Simple Lift Platform had been built nearby.
At the edge, Velin looked down. The entire Cavern covered an enormous area, supported by more than thirty massive stone pillars. It spanned roughly four square kilometers.
Ranches of varying sizes had been established throughout the Cavern, where all kinds of strange Magic Beasts were kept.
"So this is the real reason Huofeng Town exists." Velin turned to Lixis and asked curiously.
"That's right." Lixis nodded. "It was only because of this Cavern that the town above ground came to exist."
"Look, this place is a hundred meters underground. So far, only one exit leading to the surface has been found. It's practically a natural underground fortress."
"Here, I raise thirteen kinds of Edible Magic Beasts. They can unlock the human body's potential and strengthen my subordinates."
Velin rested both hands on the railing and looked down, making a rough estimate. "There are more than two thousand Magic Beasts here. How many can be sent out each year?"
"Very few. Only around thirty or so each year, but I'm satisfied with that." Lixis answered.
"I see. That really is a little low."
Seeing this Cavern also resolved one of Velin's doubts.
