While Landier was busy, Velin and Lotius engaged in a pleasant conversation.
Lotius did not act condescending toward this Continental Legend who had come from a secondary continent.
When one was weak, one's place of birth could inspire a sense of superiority. But at their current level, only strength determined who held the higher status.
"Velin, what are your thoughts on the Silvarecis Empire?"
"Lord Lotius, that has stumped me." Velin smiled. "I came from a secondary continent and have never even been to the Main Continent, so I only know the Empire in broad terms. I cannot answer that question."
"That was my mistake." Lotius apologized.
"It's fine. You did not mean anything by it."
Velin brushed the matter aside. He could tell that the other man wanted to recruit him, but he had no intention of joining the Empire.
Seeing this, Lotius did not pursue the subject.
Since Velin had already made his refusal clear, continuing to invite him would only ruin the rare atmosphere between them.
"Grandfather, Moon Knight, Madam Xuemya, please have some tea." Landier respectfully placed the poured tea before the three of them.
"Thank you." Velin accepted the teacup and expressed his thanks.
Xuemya did the same and thanked him.
Lotius merely nodded, then gestured to the seat beside him, indicating that Landier should sit down and listen as well.
After taking a sip of tea, Velin asked, "Lotius, I have a rather presumptuous question. May I ask for your guidance?"
"So long as it does not involve Imperial secrets, I will tell you everything I can." Lotius spoke frankly.
Seeing this, Velin immediately asked, "As a country bumpkin, I am very curious: how many Legends does the Silvarecis Empire possess?"
"That question is beyond me." Lotius shook his head slightly, somewhat helplessly. "I
