Inside a palace converted from a manor in Clement City's West City District.

Its interior layout resembled that of the Titon Kingdom's royal palace, with every detail revealing the Titon Kingdom's architectural style.

As Velin knew, within Clement City, whether nobles, wealthy merchants, or commoners with spare money, all were altering their homes to bring them closer to Titon Kingdom culture.

From this, it seemed that King Merezhak of the Titon Kingdom had great ambitions. But clearly, the Expeditionary Army would not allow the Titon Kingdom to annex Grand Duke Brera.

Whether to balance the Titon Kingdom or to consider the interests of the various factions within the Expeditionary Army, there were only two possible ways to handle the Grand Duchy of Brera: preserve its integrity, or divide it into smaller duchies.

As for the outcome, it had little to do with Velin.

He was only a passerby, and taking his share would be enough.

Upon arriving in the garden, Velin took a seat in a Wicker Chair at Merezhak's warm invitation.

"Ambassador Velin, have you come to see me today because there is some urgent matter to handle? As long as it is within my power, I certainly will not refuse." Merezhak poured Velin a drink as he asked in a gentle tone.

Velin smiled and made the customary gesture of thanks before speaking. "Your Majesty Merezhak, what are your thoughts on Queen Elsa's activities within the Titon Kingdom?"

Merezhak set down the wine jug. Smiling, he asked, "Ambassador Velin, why do you ask such a question?"

Watching Merezhak's expression, Velin could not help admiring the man's strength of heart. It seemed the rumors did not match reality—or perhaps this king had escaped Queen Elsa's control and developed some different ideas.

"Is your third daughter truly your daughter?"

Velin
