From Today On, Infinite Mana
Feng Wu looked within his dantian. It was almost entirely filled by a massive fireball, while the other planets looked like floating black specks. He felt that he was developing in an increasingly monstrous direction.
Was this really the beginning of forming a miniature universe within his dantian? The largest Main Star had been ignited into a "star," and it seemed to possess the power to endlessly expand and burn ever more intensely.
There were still some tangible Dou Qi cores within it that had yet to be completely ignited.
Judging roughly by proportion, once Feng Wu's actual strength rose further and those tangible cores had all burned away and transformed into energy, that should mean his Dou Emperor realm had reached its end—at the peak of the Nine Star Dou Emperor realm, just about to advance to Dou Zong, right?
By then, there would probably only be a tiny fragment left at the very center, compressed to an unimaginable degree and of extraordinarily high quality.
That tiny fragment would most likely not be inferior even to the combined volume and mass of the rest of the star.
That, too, was a symbol of strength.
As Feng Wu watched the star-level Dou Qi core crystal constantly churn and generate new energy, a thought struck him. Following his will, he controlled his body and instantly sealed every Acupoint gateway throughout himself, even shutting off the expansion, contraction, and breathing of his body and pores.
Feng Wu had actively cut off his ability to absorb all Dou Qi from heaven and earth to replenish himself.
Not even half a breath later, Feng Wu's eyes lit up. His suddenly blazing gaze made Qing Lin, who stood timidly before him and still did not know what to do, feel uneasy and uncomfortable.
Feng Wu had yet to decide how she would ultimately be dealt with—killed, released... or something else? Yet his suddenly heated gaze made her feel as though it were scorching her.
"Didn't he say he wasn't after my looks?" Qing Lin was confused and frightened, but circumstances were stronger than people.
Men's mouths are lying ghosts!
Lü Man grumbled inwardly. In any case, she could tell that she definitely would not be able to escape. Fortunately, Feng Wu and the others had not treated her as the Mo Clan had, binding and imprisoning her or making vulgar remarks.
Qing Lin could only wait for Feng Wu and the others to decide what to do with her.
She felt that Feng Wu should not be that kind of person. Besides, he was not much older than Lü Man. Young people found it easier to adapt to and accept one another.
If enough time passed, Qing Lin might truly be moved by him. After all, Feng Wu had fought to save her from Mu Chen.
The Mo Clan had also been wiped out by them.
And compared to being verbally humiliated by Mo Cheng, if she truly had no choice... then if it was Feng Wu, it was not as though she could not accept it...
Yes, only if she had no choice. Since Feng Wu was not ugly and was also her savior, Qing Lin would submit.
Feelings did not come that quickly. Feng Wu was quite charming, but not so charming that he could enchant all living beings. Qing Lin could not be said to like him yet.
Qing Lin had been trapped by the Mo Clan and brought all the way from the great desert, enduring the dust and hardship of the journey. Then she had been hung and bound in the Mo Clan dungeon. Though her clothes could not be called dirty or torn, they were only a thin garment and slightly disheveled.
It was not particularly revealing—not even as revealing as Ya Fei's professional outfit back then. It merely exposed one shoulder, her collarbone, calves, lower abdomen, and such.
Yet under Feng Wu's prolonged, blazing stare, her face still turned crimson. She felt as though he could see through her and roast her over a fire.
Mu Chen and Mu Bin both secretly chuckled at the sight, but neither spoke. Ya Fei was still downstairs.
The two merely glanced at each other and exchanged a look, immediately understanding what the other meant.
Every man understood.
Mu Bin found Mu Chen much more pleasing to the eye. "As expected of this old man's descendant. Though his talent and aptitude are trash and he's only fit to preserve what he has, at least his brain is quick and clever."
Mu Chen also felt that the fellow Feng Wu had assigned as his partner was truly easy to get along with. He understood what I meant with one look. What kind of fate across countless lifetimes does it take to cultivate that kind of tacit understanding?
Fine, talking with him is satisfying. He's worth getting to know deeply.
When I get the chance, I'll ask whether I can become sworn brothers with him.
That way, I can both draw closer to my comrade-in-arms and use this connection to get closer to Feng Wu as well.
Heh, I really am incredibly smart!
Because Mu Bin had changed his appearance and concealed himself, Mu Chen still did not know about their blood relation. As his imagination ran wild, Mu Chen was straying farther and farther down the path of being an unfilial descendant.
Naturally, Feng Wu had no idea what those two were thinking. His bright eyes had not been deliberately staring at Qing Lin's body either.
Feng Wu had no distractions. His gaze was merely an unconscious external expression after he failed to rein in his body's reaction to the excitement and shock in his heart.
At that moment, Feng Wu's consciousness was entirely focused on the internal circulation within his dantian. If someone attacked him now, Feng Wu would certainly be caught completely off guard and thrown into a scramble.
Feng Wu had rarely made such a low-level mistake, but the transformation taking place within his dantian was simply too astonishing.
It could be said that Feng Wu had already become completely independent of this heaven and earth.
Qi arose from within.
On the Dou Qi Continent, every person's Dou Qi—whether cultivated or recovered—actually came from outside the body, from heaven and earth. They seized ownerless Dou Qi from the world, stored it within themselves, and converted it into their own.
They then expended it in battle, whereupon the Dou Qi returned to heaven and earth, dispersing and gradually losing all traces of its owner.
No one's Dou Qi was generated from within their own body.
Even the Dou Qi rapidly restored by consuming a Qi Replenishing Pill was partly absorbed from outside, while most came from the dissolved medicinal power. It had nothing whatsoever to do with self-generation.
There were legends that the children of some powerful experts were born with considerable cultivation and innate Dou Qi.
Yet that was not generated by their own bodies either. It appeared innate, but in truth, during gestation, those children merely inherited the father's essence and received nourishment from the mother. It was not self-generated, and they had only taken a minuscule portion of their parents' power, something their parents could even recover through ordinary metabolism.
But for those newborn second generations, it became an innate, powerful cultivation and the talent of being born with Dou Qi.
Yet all of this did not come from oneself. It came from the outside world. For humans, energy could never be generated from nothing.
But today, Feng Wu had broken that law.
Perhaps he had not truly broken the conservation of energy—that was unrealistic. Rather, this core had genuinely acquired the special laws of a star.
Feng Wu had sealed every gateway through which his body absorbed Dou Qi from the outside, yet the Dou Qi within him was still slowly increasing, and his cultivation was automatically rising as well.
If Feng Wu had not actively circulated part of his Dou Qi out of his dantian and shifted it into his flesh and blood for tempering and consumption, his overflowing cultivation would likely have burst through its bottleneck immediately.
The power of this Main Star had not only grown greater—it could now generate itself.
Feng Wu was reminded of the complicated explanations from science-fiction films in his previous life regarding why stars like the sun could produce energy without end for billions or even tens of billions of years.
Like the fusion reactions inside stars, fusion naturally released greater and more powerful energy.
Though fantasy could not be completely compared to science, at least he now had a relatively reasonable explanation and foundation for understanding it.
Fortunately, this fusion reaction followed its own rules and remained within a certain range.
It would not spiral out of control or exceed all bounds, nor would it harm Feng Wu. His body belonged to him, and so did his dantian. As the most central part of his body and the core source of his power, Feng Wu naturally possessed one hundred percent control over his dantian.
Feng Wu tested it and found that he could completely control this nuclear fusion-like Dou Qi aggregation reaction.
What he controlled was not what came after the fusion, but the amount and speed of the Dou Qi being fused before and during the fusion process.
That was why this change would not cause the Dou Qi in Feng Wu's dantian to lose control, break free of his grasp, run wild like a stampeding horse, and eventually blow him apart.
Feng Wu's complete control over his own body was equivalent to having a valve for this newly born innate ability.
He could close it or open it, turn it up or turn it down.
Feng Wu tested it. The amount of new energy generated after fusing Dou Qi was enormous.
It was like earning ten thousand times the investment.
This meant that Feng Wu could use Dou Qi without any limits. In a sense, he now possessed a mana bar that could recover infinitely.
As long as his skills' cooldowns were short enough and his meridians could endure the output, he could unleash his ultimate moves as freely as he wished.
He no longer needed to worry about conserving Dou Qi, nor did he need to fear being suppressed by an opponent in the struggle over the power of heaven and earth, ending up at a disadvantage with insufficient worldly energy.
Feng Wu could completely use his own Dou Qi to replenish the Dou Qi between heaven and earth, achieving the same effect as controlling, seizing, and using vast amounts of worldly energy.
It was just that absurd!
As for the saying that one's own Dou Qi was nothing compared to the power of heaven and earth, Feng Wu could now take off his socks and throw them back into the face of whoever had first said it.
Who said a human body could not rival heaven and earth?
Did they think the diameter of the core in Feng Wu's dantian increasing ninefold was a joke?
With its diameter increased ninefold, the spherical core's volume had increased by nine cubed—nine times nine times nine—for a full seven hundred and twenty-nine times the original volume.
And Feng Wu's Dou Qi had already been far greater in quantity and quality than that of ordinary people.
Now that it had increased by over seven hundred times, even without the automatic fusion generating new Dou Qi, Feng Wu could not possibly use it all up by himself.
To say nothing else, when ordinary people advanced, a minor realm increase would generally raise their total Dou Qi by around ten percent of the previous level. Greater advancements could reach thirty to fifty percent.
But whose advancement, even crossing from a Six Star Dou Wang to a Seven Star Dou Emperor, could increase their total Dou Qi by roughly four times at most? The true strength still lay in controlling and connecting with the external power of heaven and earth, using the small to control the great.
No one could possibly increase it by more than seven hundred times in one go.
Taking into account the fact that Feng Wu's Dou Qi had been exceptionally abundant from the start, the amount of Dou Qi in his body was now roughly a thousand times that of an ordinary Seven Star Dou Emperor of the same cultivation level.
Later on, as each level raised his Dou Qi even further, the amount of Dou Qi in Feng Wu's dantian might exceed that of many Dou Zun experts—perhaps by far more than that.
That was why Feng Wu could say that he alone could equal all the power of heaven and earth that others could borrow.
He was completely free of shortages, and he certainly would never run out.
What Feng Wu lacked now was no longer Dou Qi reserves. Under normal circumstances, unless one's cultivation realm reached an extremely high level, an ordinary dantian would be completely incapable of containing such an enormous Dou Qi energy core.
Feng Wu's dantian had now entered a special spatial state.
It could be said to be infinitely vast. It depended only on how the star core in Feng Wu's dantian would expand and evolve.
And when using Dou Qi, having a vast amount of it within one's body—even more than a Dou Zun expert—did not necessarily mean one was powerful.
Possessing this power was one thing. It represented the upper limit of Feng Wu's strength. If he could unleash all of it in a single burst, Feng Wu could absolutely crush a true Dou Zun to death.
Even a Dou Zun could not pour out all their Dou Qi at once in battle.
The output of one's meridians had a limit.
If Feng Wu wanted to expend all of his Dou Qi in that way, there was no other option. He would have to self-destruct completely.
The strength, toughness, and width of Feng Wu's meridians were actually the upper limit of his Dou Qi output, the upper limit of the power he could use and exert.
Having power alone was not enough. Power still had limits on how it could be used.
However, Feng Wu's meridians were also far broader and stronger than those of ordinary people, and the rate at which he could output power was extremely formidable.
With a Seven Star Dou Emperor-grade body, Feng Wu's Dou Qi output was now absolutely no weaker than that of an ordinary Dou Zong!
And his power was infinite!
Yet to that immense total reserve of Dou Qi, this level of output was merely a drop in the ocean.
"What trash!" Feng Wu cursed himself inwardly. He was sitting on a treasure mountain but could not use it. "Trash. These meridians are short, weak, fragile, and narrow. Bah!
"And I called myself someone with an unrivaled foundation, an unrivaled genius. Yet I can't even unleash one percent of my own power in an instant!
"Trash!"
Feng Wu cursed himself inwardly. If my meridians were like dragons, wouldn't I rise straight to the heavens, become a Dou Zun, and challenge a Half-Saint?
Trash! I have the power to fight a Dou Zun, yet I can only fight Dou Zongs. Trash!
Feng Wu cursed himself in his heart.
Yet he was secretly quite pleased with himself.
However, this Dou Qi fusion that generated seemingly limitless power was not truly without limits. It was simply that its limit was too far away to see, and the day of exhaustion could not be glimpsed.
Still, all things followed laws. Feng Wu could not use this method to instantly fuse limitless power and raise his cultivation to an unimaginable level.
Within a certain limit, the newly generated power from fusion was not only abundant but pure. Feng Wu's cultivation would naturally rise little by little on its own. He could cultivate while lying down and automatically progress step by step until he reached the summit.
But if the speed of Dou Qi fusion became too fast, then while more Dou Qi would be generated, the fusion would consume the tangible stellar core deposited at the deepest center of Feng Wu's star core.
That was one of the markers of Feng Wu's cultivation.
If the newly generated Dou Qi had not settled and compressed, while the old Dou Qi was expended in great quantities, his cultivation would decline instead of rise.
So loopholes were not so easy to find.
