Ch. 41Puppet

Feng Wu entered the Dou King Tomb’s vast chamber and discovered its treasures, the Dou Wang’s remains, and eleven dangerous puppets guarding the jade throne. He realized the puppets could be far tougher than their weakened strength suggested, leaving him unsure how to proceed.

  • Feng Wu crossed a trap-filled passage lined with the bones of craftsmen who had been sealed inside the tomb and killed.
  • Feng Wu entered the tomb chamber and found a Medicine Garden, pill shelves, weapon racks, and ancient books, most of them ruined by time.
  • Feng Wu saw the Dou Wang’s skeleton pierced by roots from the giant tree above the tomb and understood that the tree had fed on the corpse.
  • Feng Wu identified ten dilapidated Tier 3 Puppets and one dilapidated Fourth Order Puppet guarding the jade throne and three jade chests.
  • Feng Wu worried that the puppets’ metal bodies had retained much of their original defenses despite their reduced strength and movement.

Ch. 42Bald, but Stronger!

Feng Wu tested the Puppets’ alert range and fought one of the Tier 3 machines to reach the treasures nearby. After using Flame Fire Body and discovering the Puppet’s damaged chest cover was leaking energy, he suspected its power source was exposed.

  • Feng Wu cautiously approached the eleven Puppets and found that only the nearest one activated when he entered its alert range.
  • The Puppet’s speed and metal body overwhelmed Feng Wu’s ordinary attacks, so he activated Flame Fire Body, which burned away his clothes, hair, eyebrows, and more.
  • Feng Wu’s empowered assault forced the Puppet back, but its movements grew increasingly sluggish and it briefly lost power.
  • Feng Wu noticed a loose, wobbling cover on the Puppet’s chest and saw Dou Qi leaking through the gap.
  • Feng Wu struck the exposed cover with Mountain Splitting Palm, causing more Dou Qi to spill out and leading him to suspect it concealed the Puppet’s energy source.

Ch. 43Third Order Magic Core

Feng Wu disabled a Puppet and took its depleted Third Order Magic Cores, then recovered his Dou Qi and decided to bring Little Er Ha into the tomb to help deal with the remaining Puppets. The chapter ended as he and Little Er Ha prepared to attack the Puppets together.

  • Feng Wu broke open a Puppet's chest switch, stopped it, and extracted nine Third Order Magic Cores, seven of which still held some energy.
  • Feng Wu stored the Puppet and Magic Cores, then recovered from the heavy Dou Qi cost of using Flame Fire Body.
  • Feng Wu decided to bring Little Er Ha into the tomb rather than spend two days defeating the remaining Puppets alone.
  • Little Er Ha mistook Feng Wu's bald, naked appearance for that of an impostor before recognizing him by his scent.
  • Feng Wu instructed Little Er Ha to target the Puppets' chests and avoid attracting too many at once, promising to make her pills if she behaved.

Ch. 44A Windfall of Treasure

Feng Wu and Little Er Ha cleared the burial chamber’s remaining Puppets, then Feng Wu harvested rare medicinal herbs and investigated a Dou Wang’s pill cabinets. The pills on the first shelf had all deteriorated, but Feng Wu let Little Er Ha eat the remaining medicinal essence from the waste pills and herbs.

  • Feng Wu and Little Er Ha dismantled Puppets together, and Feng Wu rewarded Little Er Ha with Qi Replenishing Pills before sending it to guard the entrance.
  • Feng Wu entered the Medicine Garden and carefully harvested seven surviving herbs, including the Night Spirit Leaf.
  • Feng Wu inspected pill cabinets labeled by rank and opened the Rank 1 pill bottles, discovering that their contents had lost their efficacy and crumbled into powder.
  • Little Er Ha began eating the waste pills and withered herbs, and Feng Wu stopped it to check what it had consumed.
  • Feng Wu realized that Little Er Ha could safely digest the leftover medicinal essence, so he allowed it to eat the waste pills and herb remnants for energy.

Ch. 45Fifth Grade "Soul Nourishing Liquid"

Feng Wu searched the pill shelf and salvaged several valuable pills, including a Fifth Grade Soul Nourishing Liquid that could strengthen his Soul Power. He also found a box of pill formulas, giving him a way to advance his alchemy as he left with valuable supplies.

  • Feng Wu let Little Er Ha eat the nonpoisonous ruined pills and sorted through the damaged Rank 1, Rank 2, Third Grade, and Fourth Grade pills.
  • Feng Wu upgraded the surviving Qi Gathering Powder into a Foundation Establishment Pill and preserved a Purple Heart Barrier Breaking Pill.
  • Feng Wu found two useful Fifth Grade pills: a Dou Ling Pill and a Soul Nourishing Liquid he intended to use himself.
  • Feng Wu discovered a box of pill formulas that could help him develop his alchemy skills.

Ch. 46Fire Tipped Spear

Feng Wu found valuable pill recipes and claimed the powerful Fire Tipped Spear in the Dou Wang's tomb. He then began using Fifth Grade Soul Nourishing Liquid, but its fierce effects left him trembling in agony.

  • Feng Wu discovered a collection of pill recipes, including a Rank 2 Overlord Hair Growth Pill that could counter the side effects of his cultivation technique.
  • Feng Wu found the Fire Tipped Spear, a Flawless Famous Weapon made from rare materials and capable of greatly amplifying Fire Attribute Dou Qi, and took it for himself.
  • Feng Wu gathered some remaining equipment, left Little Er Ha to guard the passage, and prepared to use Fifth Grade Soul Nourishing Liquid.
  • Feng Wu dabbed a drop of the liquid onto his forehead, and his Soul Power absorbed it, triggering intense itching, numbness, soreness, and pain.

Ch. 47Facing the Grand Eunuch Puppet

Feng Wu used Soul Nourishing Liquid to raise his Soul Power enough to become a Rank 3 Alchemist, then fought the tomb’s Puppets with Little Er Ha. After the Grand Eunuch Puppet ambushed him, Feng Wu destroyed another ordinary Puppet and prepared to face the Grand Eunuch Puppet alongside Little Er Ha.

  • Feng Wu absorbed drops of Soul Nourishing Liquid, advancing his Soul Power from the boundary of Rank 1 and Second Rank to a level that could make him a Rank 3 Alchemist.
  • Feng Wu used the Fire Tipped Spear and his improved precision to dismantle two ordinary Tier 3 Puppets with Little Er Ha.
  • The Grand Eunuch Puppet ambushed Feng Wu, and its powerful punch drove him back and injured his shoulder.
  • Feng Wu realized he could damage the Grand Eunuch Puppet, then used its force to retreat and destroy a nearby ordinary Puppet by striking its chest weakness.
  • Feng Wu and Little Er Ha split to attack the Grand Eunuch Puppet from opposite sides.

Ch. 48Schemes After the Death of a Nine Star Dou King

Feng Wu and Little Er Ha defeated the Grand Eunuch Puppet, then opened the treasure chest beside the Dou Wang's corpse. Feng Wu discovered the dead Dou Wang's deception and reached for the cultivation scroll.

  • Little Er Ha distracted the Grand Eunuch Puppet, letting Feng Wu exploit its openings and repeatedly attack its damaged armor.
  • Feng Wu and Little Er Ha wore down the Grand Eunuch Puppet until Feng Wu smashed its energy storage compartment and collected ten Fourth Order Magic Crystals.
  • Feng Wu defeated the remaining Tier 3 Puppet and opened the chest beside the Dou Wang's corpse.
  • The Soul Jade projected a remnant soul that declared Feng Wu qualified to inherit the Dou Wang's legacy, but Feng Wu rejected its claim and swept the projection away.
  • Feng Wu read the Soul Jade and learned the Nine Star Dou King had died after abducting a Fifth Rank Alchemist and being pursued by the Alchemist's allies.
  • Feng Wu dismissed the Dou Wang's plan for him to join the dead man's clan and reached for the cultivation scroll.

Ch. 49Murphy's Law Is Unavoidable

Feng Wu and Little Er Ha hid at the tomb passage entrance when a Li Clan party arrived, and Feng Wu prepared to ambush them in the narrow corridor. Li Zheng sent Ping San and Li Si ahead as expendable scouts, but Ping San shoved Li Si out first, and Feng Wu killed him with a spear thrust and attacked the passage with Cloud Dispelling Palm.

  • Feng Wu stored the two unread scrolls and took Little Er Ha to lie in wait at the tomb passage entrance.
  • Li Zheng led Young Master Li Ling and more than thirty Li Clan members into the passage, then ordered Ping San and Li Si to go ahead with tinderboxes.
  • Li Zheng revealed that he regarded Ping San and Li Si as disloyal and intended to use them as bait for whoever was waiting at the tomb entrance.
  • Ping San extinguished his tinderbox and kicked Li Si out ahead of him as the two charged toward the tomb chamber.
  • Feng Wu pierced Li Si with his spear and struck into the passage with Cloud Dispelling Palm.

Ch. 50Breakout Failed

Feng Wu and Little Er Ha ambushed Li Zheng’s group in the narrow passage, killing several pursuers before Li Zheng’s reinforcements forced them to retreat. Li Zheng refused to chase them into the burial chamber and instead ordered his men to cut off their supplies.

  • Feng Wu killed Li Si with a spear thrust, then used the Cloud Dispelling Palm to blow Ping San into the spears of the advancing Martial Artists.
  • Little Er Ha killed two charging soldiers, and Feng Wu used the Absorption Palm to drain a wounded man’s blood before clashing with Li Zheng.
  • Li Zheng brought three Dou Zhe above Seven Star to the front and rotated wounded fighters to wear Feng Wu and Little Er Ha down.
  • After another half hour of fighting, Feng Wu blasted Li Zheng with the Cloud Dispelling Palm and retreated down the slope with Little Er Ha.
  • Li Zheng rejected his men’s suggestion to pursue Feng Wu and ordered Li Wu to move the group back and cut off the fugitives’ water and food.

Ch. 51Ladder Cloud Steps, Fire Meteor!

Feng Wu discovered the Ladder Cloud Steps movement technique and the Fire Meteor spear technique in the tomb, then learned Fire Meteor while weighing the dangers of gaining experience by killing people. As he prepared to practice Ladder Cloud Steps, the smell of roasting drifted from the passageway behind him.

  • After waiting two hours without anyone entering the tomb chamber, Feng Wu treated his and Little Er Ha’s minor wounds and stood guard.
  • Feng Wu examined two scrolls and found Ladder Cloud Steps, a movement technique that could let its practitioner tread through the air.
  • He found Fire Meteor, a spear technique designed for the Fire Tipped Spear, and practiced its basic forms before using experience points to reach the introductory stage.
  • Feng Wu chose not to spend more experience points on Fire Meteor, reflecting that killing people granted experience far faster than hunting Magical Beasts.
  • As Feng Wu began preparing to practice Ladder Cloud Steps, he smelled something roasting from the passageway behind him.

Ch. 52Add Something Extra

Feng Wu held back the smoke filling the passage while waiting for a chance to escape, but Li Ling ordered his retainers to add potent drugs to it. When Li Zheng’s intervention sent the smoke rolling downward, Feng Wu unleashed a gale and charged out with Little Er Ha, leaving Li Zheng and Li Ling overwhelmed by the fumes.

  • Feng Wu used a light breeze to keep smoke out of the burial chamber and sent Little Er Ha to knock down the Night-Luminescent Pearls as they waited to break out.
  • Li Hei and Li Fangba burned damp firewood to fill the passage with smoke, and Li Ling promised them positions at his side.
  • Li Ling handed Li Hei and Li Fangba several drugs and ordered them to add the bottles’ contents to the smoke.
  • Li Zheng kicked over the fire after warning that Feng Wu could blow the smoke back, then grabbed Li Ling and fled up the passage.
  • Feng Wu covered his and Little Er Ha’s faces with damp cloths, unleashed a gale, and charged up the passage with Little Er Ha.
  • The drug-laced smoke engulfed Li Zheng and Li Ling; Li Ling lost his senses, while Li Zheng struggled against the drugs’ effects.

Ch. 53Threat

Feng Wu and Little Er Ha fought their way through the poisonous passage and captured Li Ling, forcing Li Zheng to bargain for the young master’s safety. Li Zheng ordered his men to clear the way, leaving Feng Wu and Little Er Ha free to pass with their hostage.

  • Feng Wu killed Li Hei and Li Fangba, who had fallen under the Love Poison, then advanced through the passage with Little Er Ha.
  • Li Zheng sent Li Wu to carry Li Ling toward the exit while he stayed behind to hold off Feng Wu.
  • Feng Wu knocked Li Zheng back, and Little Er Ha used Teleport to seize Li Ling from Li Wu.
  • Little Er Ha wounded Li Wu and held Li Ling hostage as Feng Wu threatened Li Zheng and the approaching men.
  • Li Zheng agreed to let Feng Wu and Little Er Ha pass and ordered everyone to clear the way.

Ch. 54The Passage Collapsed!

Feng Wu fought off Li Zheng and escaped up the passage with Little Er Ha, then killed Li Wu and Li Ling before collapsing the passageway. The collapse left Li Zheng and the others trapped below.

  • Li Zheng attacked Feng Wu with the Layered Waves Blade Technique, but Feng Wu countered with Flying Fire Meteor and struck Li Zheng from behind.
  • Feng Wu rushed to Little Er Ha, and Li Zheng ordered his subordinates to let them pass rather than risk further losses.
  • Feng Wu killed Li Wu with a sudden spear thrust and continued toward the exit with Little Er Ha.
  • At the passage exit, Feng Wu snapped Li Ling's neck, threw his body into the passageway, and used Earth Spring Impact to collapse the ceiling.

Ch. 55Fight Their Way to Freedom

Feng Wu and Little Er Ha broke out of the tunnel, killed the Li Family guards outside, and escaped toward Ping Shan City. Li Zheng emerged from the rubble to find Li Ling and most of his men dead, then began arranging support and resources to hunt down the two fugitives.

  • Feng Wu collapsed the tunnel entrance behind him, trapping Li Zheng and his men inside.
  • Feng Wu and Little Er Ha slaughtered the remaining Li Family guards outside and left before reinforcements could arrive.
  • Li Zheng dug through the rubble and found the bodies outside, then vowed to kill Feng Wu and Little Er Ha.
  • Li Zheng ordered Li Mu to free the men guarding the camp and report the deaths to the clan.
  • Li Zheng sent Li Hu to seek the Second Young Master's backing, Li Guang to gather Li Ling's subordinates, and Wang Fugui'er to gather money and spread word about the treasure land ruins.

Ch. 56Little Er Ha Accidentally Swallows a Pill

Feng Wu and Little Er Ha escaped the tomb and settled in a mountain hollow, where Little Er Ha accidentally swallowed a Foundation Establishment Pill too early. As the pill forced him to advance despite his poor foundation, Feng Wu searched desperately for a way to save him and suddenly realized he had a solution.

  • Li Zheng led his remaining men into the tomb passage to wait for reinforcements rather than pursue Feng Wu and Little Er Ha.
  • Feng Wu bound Li Ling's Storage Ring to himself and sorted through its contents at a mountain hollow.
  • Feng Wu fed Little Er Ha some pills and explained that he should take the Foundation Establishment Pill just before advancing to Second Order.
  • Little Er Ha bit through the jade bottle and swallowed the pill, triggering a painful forced advancement that threatened irreversible damage to his talent.
  • Feng Wu searched his belongings for a remedy and suddenly remembered a way to make up for Little Er Ha's foundation.

Ch. 57Second Order Magical Beast · Little Er Ha

Feng Wu saved Little Er Ha from an unstable breakthrough by transferring his experience to her, and she advanced into a Second Order Magical Beast. He also refined and used the Overlord Hair Growth Pill, then went hunting with Little Er Ha three days later.

  • Feng Wu transferred experience to Little Er Ha, stabilizing her Dou Qi and allowing her to complete her breakthrough.
  • Little Er Ha became a Second Order Magical Beast, gaining a Magic Crystal and sharper claws, but Feng Wu scolded her for being greedy.
  • Feng Wu refined a Rank 2 Overlord Hair Growth Pill in one attempt and used it to grow his hair.
  • Feng Wu tested the pill’s effects by sending Dou Qi to his head and admiring his new hair in the mirror.
  • Three days later, Feng Wu returned from hunting with a bleeding Fire Finch and invited Little Er Ha to have roast chicken.

Ch. 58The Ping Shan City Li Clan Makes Its Move

Feng Wu went to Ping Shan City to investigate the Li Clan’s activity, only to learn that the clan was searching the Magical Beast Mountain Range for him and Little Er Ha. He left the checkpoint without revealing himself, remaining safe under his disguise as the search intensified.

  • Feng Wu and Little Er Ha stopped at an abandoned campsite, and Feng Wu decided to visit Ping Shan City to investigate the Li Clan.
  • Feng Wu approached Ping Shan City in disguise, but its tighter defenses made him prepare to leave without entering.
  • A checkpoint sentry stopped Feng Wu and inspected Little Er Ha, while Feng Wu readied himself to fight or flee.
  • The sentry showed Feng Wu a wanted portrait of his bald appearance and a misdrawn Little Er Ha, explaining that the Li Clan was hunting them for killing its eldest young master and dozens of clan members.
  • Feng Wu learned that hundreds of people were searching for him and Little Er Ha, with the Li Clan offering large rewards, and chose not to expose himself at the checkpoint.

Ch. 59Li Zheng's Predicament

Feng Wu and Little Er Ha began a counter-hunt in the Magical Beast Mountain Range, killing dozens of Li Family pursuers while Feng Wu advanced to Eight Star Dou Zhe. • Feng Wu withdrew from Ping Shan City with Little Er Ha and declared that their hunt had begun.
  • Feng Wu and Little Er Ha ambushed successive groups in the Magical Beast Mountain Range, killing their pursuers and taking their signal flares and valuables.
  • Over three days, Feng Wu and Little Er Ha killed dozens of people, including two Dou Masters, while Feng Wu reached Eight Star Dou Zhe.
  • Li Zheng learned that thirty-six people had not returned to camp and ordered the scouts recalled, suspecting most had been killed by Feng Wu and Little Er Ha.
  • Li Biao mocked Li Zheng and refused to act, while Li Zhi told Li Zheng to rest instead of issuing a recall order.
  • Li Zheng watched the others leave and concluded that the Li Family would suffer if they failed to eliminate Feng Wu and Little Er Ha.

Ch. 60The Temptation of an Aura Concealing Dou Technique

Feng Wu and Little Er Ha targeted a large Li Family camp and discovered that one of its members used an aura-concealing Dou Technique. Feng Wu devised a risky plan to steal the technique and infiltrate the valley, leaving the outcome uncertain.

  • Li Zheng ordered his remaining men to form larger search teams and stay close enough to support one another.
  • Feng Wu and Little Er Ha continued killing Li Family teams, and Feng Wu's wealth and Fire Meteor Spear Technique grew.
  • Feng Wu scouted a valley camp of thirteen Li Zheng subordinates and spotted a Two Star Dou Shi whose aura seemed like that of a Nine Star Dou Zhe.
  • Feng Wu decided to seize the aura-concealing Dou Technique and planned an infiltration with Little Er Ha.
  • Feng Wu and Little Er Ha killed the two mountain sentries, exchanged the camp's safety signal, and took a uniform.
  • Feng Wu wounded himself, stained the uniform with blood, and hurried toward the valley to blend in with the camp.
