Harpies, Deck Battle, Change in Attitude
"Begin."
At the Servant Witch's call, both Green Wing and Ian grew serious, entering a combat stance.
Every wizard in the hall held their breath.
"Bad news! A huge flock of harpies is gathering outside—they're getting closer and closer!"
A voice suddenly disrupted the fight.
At the entrance to the hall, Vilo, who had been on patrol today, rushed in and shouted.
In an instant.
Everyone turned to look at her, and Ian and Green Wing stopped as well.
Harpies?
"Stop the fight! Prepare for battle!"
Xavier shouted from above and headed for the deck.
"Prepare for battle!"
Horton did the same.
The other Green Corridor wizard apprentices and the School's apprentices hurried toward the deck as well.
"We'll settle this later!"
Green Wing shot Ian a glance, raised his chin, and strode past him.
Ian shook his head.
He quickly headed up toward the deck.
Very soon.
They reached the deck area.
The sight before them exceeded Ian's expectations.
Hundreds of harpies had already gathered around the Airship.
They were Demonic Beasts with long hair, savage catlike faces, enormous eagle wings, and talons.
They surrounded the Airship like a black tide from every direction, their scarlet eyes brimming with bloodlust.
The Airship's alchemical cannons fired beam after beam, continuously blasting harpies from the sky.
Yet they were now blocked by a thick energy barrier. Led by two harpies nearly five meters tall, they attacked frantically, and the shield was on the verge of collapse.
"The barrier won't hold much longer. Prepare for battle!"
Xavier shouted.
At once, every wizard readied themselves. Even the Green Corridor wizards stopped joking around.
The two five-meter harpies at the front were at least first-ring level. Beneath them, there were dozens of three-meter harpies, all peak wizard apprentices.
